Ryu thought about it for a second. "I do not know what to do about it Ken. I should do something for her, since I feel like I have hurt her feelings all these years."
"Well, for starters I think you should go visit her sometime soon. You should have a talk with her face to face in person and discuss your feelings. You have a good excuse for seeing her this time of year." Ken replied.
"I don't know, Ken. I would not know what to say. It is not easy for me to express my emotions as it is for you."
"Don't wait to much longer my friend, she has waited all these years to give you her heart. I do not know how much longer she will wait. Life is not like the fairy tales, Your princess will not wait until the end of days for her prince." Ken said.
Ryu raised an eyebrow in a questioning look. "What I mean is do not let life pass you by, Grab the moment and hang on to it. Speaking of life passing us by, we had better get a move on it. If I do not get most of the items on this list for Mel, Eliza will kill me."
The two friends got up from the table and disappeared into the crowd of people.
Late December, Japan...
It was probably not a wise move trying to beat the snowstorm home Ryu thought to himself. The cold had numbed most of the feeling in his body. He was use to extreme temperatures, but this blizzard was pushing his tolerance limits to the maximum.
If only the freezing cold would numb the ache in his heart. He had let something precious to him slip away that he never knew he had possessed. If only he could turn back the wheels of time.
No one could do that; not even the world's greatest martial artists. No matter how much he wished to be able to do so.
Silently he continued on into the night. Only the howling wind answering the call of his crying heart.
