Six Novos for The Midsummer's Night Dream Frenzy Clutch at Nidus Abri

Some think it strange how all stories of magical natures start on a dark night, but for Ellorinia, everything started on a dark night. Her name was Elvish after a fashion, meaning "Golden Starlight" and it suited her quite well. A Gold-Silver dragoness, she was (as the folk of Ryslen termed things) a "Gold Twilight." This too she found right and proper, and as she flew about in the nighttime sky (a thing which unnerved many, as the Eastern-type dragoness had no wings!) she often pondered the rightness and goodness of things. It was hardly an inconceivable thing for a solo dragon to turn introspective and philosophical at times.

Eastern Twilight Gold Ellorinia [Elvish (roughly): Gold Starlight] Ellorinia came and went from her lair at Nidus Ryslen as she chose, and oftentimes indulged in a game of chess or a quiet discussion with some of the more openminded Ryslenites. That too unnerved people, as Ellorinia (and her blood-brother Liuntinweiain) could speak vocally just as easily as they could telepathically. They were quite a talented pair. Some thought she was of the ilk of the Lian Mini dragons, as she was about 14 feet in length, but even without any mystical oracle to speak her future, Ellorinia knew she had more to look forward to than bringing more small dragons into the worlds.

After a visit to Nidus Abri, Ellorinia slipped blithely through the Nexus, the Void, Between, whatever you would term it, and flew quickly home to Ryslen. She felt as though she was being followed -- it was not uncommon for one dragon to see/sense another in the space-between-spaces, but this was different. The Twilight dragoness could not find anyone behind her or near her, or even going in the same direction as her... and yet when she appeared above Ryslen's courtyard, she was not alone. Very not alone. From the nothingness sprang three dragons -- two star-marked blues, and an extremely large purplely-blue.

What have I done!? Ellorinia cried to herself, turning and staring at the three dragons who had literally appeared out of thin air. Who are you!?

I am called Taianth. The quadrepedal starred blue replied, turning easily in the sky on her (!) broad wings. Ellorinia was quick to notice that this one was very similar to the dragons from Darkling Dawn, yet there was something subtly different about her that the small dragoness could not put her finger on. As for what you have done -- you led us here. And that is good.

Starry Blue Taianth

The largest of the trio snorted loudly, and winged her way towards the courtyard below. Dreamer. We would have found the place where we are needed eventually, with or without her! I am Vaoezvrezth. To Ellorinia's eye, this snide dragoness appeared to be of Danachian lineage -- Fionabhainn, to be more precise. But there hadn't been any new clutches at that Cathair in... a very long time. What was going on!?

Twilight Vaoezvrezth
The last of the new trio was a bit more reserved, but he was definitely not lacking in strength. I am Imunen. He said without preamble. We are Nexus-Born dragons, Ellorinia. There is a good reason for our being here and now, though it may take some time for us all to understand it. Please forgive my 'sister' Vao' -- We think she was born proddy. The Danachian Twilight snarled at the Bipedal blue, and he turned swiftly on his sharp wings and glowered at her. If you're not going to be civil, Vao', go back. The Purple-Twilight did not respond.

Starry Blue Imunen

Below, a gold-green dragoness with rainbow wings slipped out of her nidulet and down towards the lake. Her hide shone with health, and her form graceful as she dove into the cool waters. Pardon my intrusion... Neodazelth added quietly but boldly. Nexus-born dragons aren't a new phenomenon -- there are many of us who have no kin to speak of, save those that have been born of our bodies.

Rainbow Winged Gold-Green Neodazelth

Ellorinia blinked a few times, and then started for the ground. Let us all get more comfortable near the lake -- now is a perfectly good time to get acquainted. The darkness and the evening chill in the air were no obstacle for the dragons, and the were all soon settled in the sand on the lakeshore. Neodazelth, with a large fish dangling from her mouth, settled in the shallows. I feel like I'm officiating a meeting. Ellorinia half-laughed, and there were a few chuckles from the others. Neodazelth chewed thoughtfully on her fish, and her faceted eyes seemed to swirl as she watched a bright furry little dragon trot up to the assembly.

Sorry I'm late... Mior Stardust said jovially as she sat down beside Imunen. The two star-marked dragons couldn't look any more different... The tall bipedal Cy blue and the small furry Vulpigon...

Vulpigon Mior Stardust

Ellorinia smiled, mostly to herself. This is Mior Stardust. Mior, meet Imunen, Taianth and Vaoezvrezth. I believe you already know Neodazelth? Good. The last was added after the furry dragon nodded.

The question now is: Why are we all here? And why now? Imunen ventured to offer, looking down at Mior with curious interest.

Because you're a moron? Vao' sniped.

That's not nice! Taianth chided instantly. It was apparent that this trio were well aquainted with each other, even if they had just come into the world.

Obviously, it is time for us to do what we're supposed to do. The whole "fate thing" if you will. Neodazelth said, licking the last of the fish juices from her paws.

What's that? Mior said naievely.

Bond. Ellorinia said instantly. I've been thinking about that since Vao' popped into this world with her sharp commentary. I was just at Nidus Abri, and they have a huge clutch of eggs hardening even now. That's what other dragons have that we six as a whole do not. There was quiet agreement after that impressive (if impulsive) statment.

Anyone opposed? Imunen asked after a few minutes of comfortable silence. There was no response. So, shall we go to Abri now, or wait until morning?

I vote for morning. Neodazelth said. I've been around Ryslen long enough to know that humans don't always take kindly to being disturbed in the middle of the night to write names on the list of Novos. Ellorinia chuckled softly.

Fine. First thing then. Vao' said sourly. She began to get to her feet. Now where can I sleep?

Ellorinia thought quickly. There wasn't enough room in her small nidulet for all of them, but perhaps one?

You can share my nest, Vaoezvrezth. Neodazelth said, taking off from the lakeshore with a slight showering of water. Vao' grumbled and followed the brightly colored dragoness.

I have room for one in my nest! Mior said cheerily. Taianth rose to her feet. Lead the way -- I'm sleepy!

That left Imunen and Ellorinia. I suppose that means I'll be sharing your space? The Cy biped asked, inclining his head to the wingless dragoness. If you don't have any objections, I do have a comfortable warm place. Ellorinia admitted. Lead the way, starlight. Ellorinia easily took to the air by telekinetic power, and flew the short way to her lair. Imunen followed, and so did sleep.

In the morning, the six dragons departed for Abri -- after they'd had to bully Vaoezvrezth awake!

*   *   *

Ellorinia - The smallest, fastest, and brightest of the six, Ellorinia is the only one who knows her parentage. She doesn't see her mother very often, but indulges in the opportunity to spend time with her sire Iozabinth and his mate Neva'. She is quite the philosopher when she has the time, but now she's off on a new adventure -- one that will probably start on a star-lit night.
Ellorinia hatched from the 2003 Ryslen Flurry Clutch

Taianth - A sturdy dragoness, Tai' surprises many by being a blue female. Though this is becoming less rare, Taianth just seems to surprise everyone. She can be a bit childish (as most people assume greens are) but she's fast and bold and strong like a blue ought to be.
Taianth came from Darkling Dawn Weyr via the Just Cuz Exchange

Vaoezvrezth - Though she is a sourpuss, Vao' is not a bad dragon. She is strong of body, mind, and opinion, and will do everything to get her way and to get the job done and to get the job done her way. It's a vicious cycle, much like Vao's vicious temper, but fortunately Imunen and Taianth (to a lesser degree) are around to keep her in check.
Vaoezvrezth is from Cathair Fionabhainn (closed), colored by Morel of Tol Eleni, from the Just Cuz Exchange

Imunen - This biped outshines many, and though his coloring would make him a lesser dragon by most people's way of thinking, Imunen is not a small dragon by any means. He is quite intelligent, and despite his sudden appearance from the Nexus, he is quite well learned and logical. He could become a strong leader, with the right dragon as his partner.
Imunen came from Cy Dragonstake

Neodazelth - The eldest of the six, Neodazelth has spent a few years at Ryslen already. She has maturity on her side, and plenty of experience dealing with other dragons. Despite her quip about offspring, Neodazelth has not yet taken a mate, though she is quite overdue for her first rising and will definitely be a strong mother.
Neodazelth was a bifthday gift from Siralla of Calyeni Caverns

Mior Stardust - As cute and innocent as Mior seems, she is. This Vulpigon just seems to be having fun all the time, and since she hasn't been given much responsibility, her strengths haven't been tested. Noone is sure what she'll be able to do, not even Mior herself, but she loves the snow and can't wait for winter to come around again.
