Vashnin is a ship originally created by a small clan of space pirates to fight against the United Sol Space Peacekeeping Federation (USSPF) The pirates, known as the Black Scourge, crafted a ship capable of destroying ships more powerful than their own by developing technology to escape detection by enemy squadrons. They discovered that by implementing a proper balance between stealth and radar, the pilots of Vashnin can easily evade enemy ships, sneak up behind them, and destroy their targets undetected. This advancement proved to tip the scales in favor of the pirates in the conflict between the Black Scourge and the USSPF. As the USSPF lost power, its hold on key bases within Sol space diminished, allowing for the rise of four races: Merikon, Ryckurn, Straylian, and Zyan. After a short time, the USSPF disbanded due to lack of firepower and wealth. The four races quickly made war with each other. Black Bart, leader of the space pirates, saw a great opportunity for financial gain. He sold the designs of Vashnin to the four races and has retired to an undisclosed location far away from Sol space. It is rumored that he and his pirates have developed a technology that recharges damaged shields...but that is a mere rumor. This ship saved many a contract pilot’s life for its ability to slip behind enemy lines unseen to destroy the primary target or completely obliterate unsuspecting pilots from behind with a rapid release of its heavy firepower. At an affordable cost, any contract pilot would be simply suicidal to not fly in one of these in a mission against the enemy.
