A new website but still boring
Thursday, January 27, 2005 23:54 GMT
This site is now officially dead. I have finally bothered to start a new website. I am going to be using Globat for the host of my new site and the url for the new site is http://www.boredally.com/. The focus of the new website will be about podcasting, although I will try to get back into AMVs now that I have enough bandwidth and storage to host avi files; I would be using Xvid if I made any AMVs. I haven't thought of a good name for my upcoming podcast and I probably won't be able to.

I am going to do the podcast just because I need another project to keep me occupied for a while. My podcast will mostly be about random crap, but I will intergrate game news into the mix more than anything else. I plan on recording one podcast per week, but I may end up recording two podcast per week if I can manage my schoolwork and mantain decent grades this semester.

I was doubting whether I would be able to bring any insightful discussion into a show. I also had the fear that I would make the world's worst podcast and that I would be criticized for even attempting to make a show. I am now fairly confident that I will be able to make a somewhat decent podcast.

Anyway, I will keep this website up for another three months so that I can get all the links that I have on various forum profiles updated and so people that might have this site bookmarked will be able to see the update relating to the change. If you happen to listen to my podcast once I have a show up, please leave a comment on the blog or email me with your opinion about the show and how it can be improved, or even to say something like "OMG, STFU u damn n00b!". Later.
An update! Amazing!

This site isn't completely dead. I have just been doing other things. I am now a college student at ICC and I have just completed my first semester. Just in case anyone is curious, I am majoring in Computer Information Systems. Another thing I have done within the past few months is that I joined the Peoria LUG, LUGOP. The site hasn't been updated in a while, but the group still exist and still has meetings.

As for this site, I have done many things to make the look of the site more consistent between pages. Many of these problems have been ignored for a while because I didn't even notice the problem beforehand. New content has been added to just about every section of the site, even though the desktop shots section is what is going to get the most updates in the future. Another thing that people might notice is that the countdown is back up and better than before. The code for the countdown is completely new. For those who want to know, the code for the new countdown is 29 lines long as opposed to the old countdown which is 107 lines long. Another thing to note is that there is now no problem with the countdown relating to the year.

I am going to be updating the site on occasion but I won't update the main page after every update. If I ever bother to put up some useful content on this site, I will finally ditch Geocities and host this site on a different hosting service.

Well, that's about all that I have to say. Later.
Quick Fix

Wow, It has been a long time. Well, first off, I won't even bother worrying about AMVs anymore. I don't have the creativity to make anything great. This site is as of now a personal/experience with Linux site. I don't have the time and this site doesn't have the traffic for anything else. The next thing on the list to mention is something that only I care about: the countdown. It now states a time within this year even though it doesn't list anything important as of now. The countdown doesn't take years into account so that is why even though the date for the FFXI release had passed, at the turn of the year, the countdown started up again.

There isn't much else for me to say. Nothing special has happened with myself or anything for that matter. Later.
Some much time wasted

I don't know what to do anymore. I think it is safe to say, as of now, that I will never make an AMV and that this site has become pointless. I just lack motivation to do anything except spend money. Everything is going to hell for me. I have just turned 20 years old, like that really matters to anyone, including myself. I would rather this be a year later so I can drink my life away instead of sleeping.

As for this site, I am always trying things that might be of use here, but these are things that I will probably never implement. I have worked on my own webserver using Apache and a Linux FTP server using Proftpd. Both services work well and could have had a use here, but I think it is too late. Since this site has had no purpose all along except distract me from how much my life sucks, I think within the next few weeks I will just give up on this site and just delete it.

Happy 20th to me. Later.
Overhaul, it's about time.

It has been a while, but I have tried to improve on this site at last. I don't have anything else going for myself, so I might as well. Anyway, it's time for the changes. First off, all the links work, which is always a good thing. I have added three new sections, all of them are irrelevant. The coding for this site is slightly better and more organized; it has to be since I am manually typing code again. Changing the code around took some time since Dreamweaver really messed up the look of the actual code, and it made some changes to the look of site that I didn't want but that I didn't care to change until now.

The major change, and the one that I always cared for, is the countdown. Gametaku Countdown v.4 now actually counts down the amount of days till a specified date, instead of breaking it down to months and days. The change to the countdown was minor and should have been implemented a long time ago. Well, I do plan on doing something with this site, but I am not sure of what I will do with it as of yet. This site will either have a purpose or be deleted. I just can't stand not doing anything anymore. Well, later on.
Save the software

Wow, I must suck big donkey nards. After all this time, this site still has no purpose. Aside from that, I just felt like including a link to an online petition that will have an impact on the whole IT industry, or something like that. I came across this on the Xine website and signed the petition in order to support Xine and many other open and closed source projects.

As for my actual life, it looks like I will stay stuck in Peoria. My mother and father have such crappy credit that I can't even go into debt in order to pay for my college tuition. Looks like my life is even more screwed. Later.
