Ocean's Eleven

I went into Ocean's Eleven not knowing what to expect. I had heard that it was a remake of the old Sinatra Rat Pack movie of the same name, but I had never seen it. But with the stellar cast that Soderburgh brought on, there has to have been some merit to the film's inception.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. There is an incredibly entertaining plot and funny story around this movie. It's a pure popcorn movie with laughter and whole-hearted smiles from beginning to end. The actors have pure chemistry with one another and the film flows from one end to another without losing momentum.

George Clooney plays Danny Ocean, a thief known for holding up large casinos. Upon his release from prison, Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt) asks for his help on an enormous job where they are to rob three casinos. With the help of old friends and the addition of a new player, Linus (Matt Damon), Ocean and Ryan plan to steal the money from the main vault of a trio of casinos, owned by the Hitler of Vegas, Terry Benedict.

Each cast member comes from a different area of expertise from a card shark to a getaway driver to a Chinese acrobat, each is versatile and has an integral part to the heist. Even the side characters have their own level of humor, especially Bernie Mac and Don Cheadle (who is quite funny with a British accent).

What pays off for this film is that everybody involved in it had a lot of fun, and it shows. The enjoyment that the cast portrays and gives out has an incredible effect on the energy of the film. What more could anybody ask for, than to have fun at the movies.
