The United states is the true birthplace of Alagaësia. The inspiration for Alagaësia can be found in the wilds of Montana, where the famed author Christopher Paolini grew up near the majestic Beartooth mountains and Yellowstone national park.
The United States is also where the Eragon movie began its production. Twentieth Century Fox, the movie studio in-charge of Eragon is based in California, along with most of the main production staff (the director, producer, etc).
One of the famous CGI houses Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) is also based in California. ILM, famous for its CGI masterpieces in numerous movies, (mainly the Star Wars films) was in-charge of the CGI effects in the Eragon Movie along with the equally famous New Zealand CGI company WETA Digital.
The CGI work rendered by the two companies included landscapes, battle sequences, and of course, Saphira the dragon.
