Taichi is the 11 year old main character of the Digimon V-Tamer 01 manga (Comic Book) that is published with the V-Jump magazine (an anime magazine in Japan) Anyways, his apperance and name may sound familiar because this Taichi Yagami is based on the Taichi Yagami (Tai Kamiya) of the Digimon Adventure 01 series. But there is a very big difference between the two. The Taichi from V-Tamer is more of a strategy make and planner than the Taici in Adventure 01. He actually thinks about his battles before charging in blindly to fight like his counterpart. That is why Taichi is reguarded as one of the best Tamers out there, even though he can be a bit hard-headed at some times. V-Tamer Taichi also has a different Partner than Adventure Taichi. Instead of Agumon, he has a Veedramon which he calls "Zeromaru" Taichi also has other Digimon helping him out, such as a Gabumon named Gabo, and a Ninjamon who's name escapes me now. Other Digimon assist Taichi and his small Team as they travle around the Digital world.

The V-Tamer Manga starts off when Taichi tries to enter a D-1 V-Pet Tamer convention, but was rejected when he found that his V-Pet wasnt compattible with the system. He earns some rude remarks from Shinichiro and his gang right afterwards. Before he was officially kicked out, Taichi snuck into the begining of the tournament and met Neo Saiba, the current Champion of the Tournament. Taichi politely begs Neo to battle him just to make sure his V-Pet wasnt truly a reject. Neo refused, but went on and battled him when his begging became too much and the crowd wanted to see it. To everyones surprise (including Kentaro and Makoto), the two V-Pets end up having a tie. Neo was devistated, but everyone else was facinated. Finally though, Taichi was really kicked out.

Taichi sat outside in the lounge, checking his V-Pet over again. Suddenly a voice spoke from his V-Pet, welcoming him to the "Holy Angle Castle" and he was surounded by light and sucked into his V-Pet. (Hero had a similar experience). He woke up to find that his Digimon V-Pet has tunred into a real Digimon, and that he was now in a strange world. He gets over the shock of seeing his V-Pet come alive and together with Zero, he starts to explore the Digital world. They run into some real Digimon, and this time Taichi was thrilled to actually command Zero into real battles, which he sucessfully did. A short time later, they run into Gabo, as he was delivering food to the Holy Angle castle. They help him out of a jam, and he in turn, leads Taichi to the Holy Angle castle. Upon arriving, Taichi and Zero get into a "fight" with the Castle Trainer Leo the Leomon. They end up battling him and a Kuagamon he trained. Taichi won :) After that, it was revealed that Taichi was summoned to the Digital World by Holy Angemon, a Powerful Angle digimon, To try and stop a Evil Digimon Demon from taking over the Digimon World, and from succesfully growing an Egg that houses his soon to be born "Child". Before Taichi continued, he had to gain the trust of some of Holy Angemons supporters. This he did by defeating them in battle. Soon after, he sets off for Demon's castle with his Partner Zero, and Gabo (because Holy Angemon made him :)

Taichi soon discovers though, before they can even enter Demons castle, they needed 5 special tags (necklas pendants) for Taichi because the Castle blocked human entry. So they instead shift their focus temporarily to going all around the continent of Server, battling Digimon, and dodging Demon's minions who had found out about Holy Angemons plan. Soon, after they had gathered a few tags, Taichi found out that the V-Pet Champion, Neo Saiba himself was appointed by Demon to guard the tags, and Train his evil Digimon army, as well as actually raise Demons Child!!!! Taichi battled him, and found that Neo Saiba was absolutely Evil to him name, heartlessly deleting his own Digimon who he thought was too weak. But Demon's decision to trust a human was in vain, when he found that he was wrong to trust a Hungry power human teenager, so he tried to destroy Human, but his now born child, ArcaDemon, who had been raised by Neo, jumped to protect his tamer, and destroyed his Father. Now Taichi has the task of defeating Neo, his Army of Evil Digimon, and the band of other Evil Tamers called "The Alias 3" to try to save the Digimon world. Indeed a Big task for one Tamer to handle.

We dont know much about this Taichi Yagami's Family, exept that he has a grandfather or some other old male relative who gave him his goggles.(Forgot to mention that Taichi has a reason for wearing his goggles in the Manga).Anyways, we are not sure if he also has a little sister named "Hikari" because with his encounter with Adventure 02 Daisuke, he did not react at all when he saw Hikari's name pop up on his Digivice. But the fact the Story itself with Daisuke is OOC gives us doubt on that.
