| Why and How did this site come into being? |

| First off, I wasnt aware of Ryo until half way through the 02 series. I, like most American fans who didnt go on the internet much (back then, now I go on every day) had no clue that a Digimon Child named Ryo Akiyama ever existed. (when I mean Digimon child, I mean a child with anything to do with Digimon. Digidestined and Tamers mainly.)But it did snag my curiosity when I saw that Brown haired, purple shirt guy with Ken in the desert when I was watching "Genesis of Evil". (honestly, Ryo looked more like a Military brat than I do now. Its definately the shirt.) I first thought that he was an even younger version of Gennai (and they indeed look alike). That was my conclusion and, because my curiosity was small then, I didnt go further into finding about Ryo. That is, until I stumbled onto a little information I found on a Ken Ichijouji shrine (I admit, I was a minor Ken fan back then *blush*) And it said that Ken watched the Battle of Diaboromon on the internet with his Friend Ryo. Now, because my curiosity was still weak, I made no attempt to find more about Ryo. Until I saw that beautiful 02 picture that Megchan made on her website long before it closed. A boy with brown Hair and no digimon partner was at the bottom of the pile of pictures of the 02 DigiDestined. Now that really got my attention right there. My first major Ryo info search began, but where to look for info on him? Thinking, I remembered that Pan-Chan of Lelola.com had recently updated her website. So I took a trip to the Digimon Character profiles and Moana drown me, the same boy was there at the bottom of the list. The name next to the cute little Icon said "Ryo Akiyama" There I found lots of Info on Ryo as well took my fist trip to Ajora's website. I didnt notice it then, but later I found that I was crazy for Ryo! I found myself making fan art and gathering as much info about him as I could. Soon, my comment to "Who's your favorite Digimon character?" was changed from "None, I like them all and cant choose," to "Ryo Akiyama!" I fell for the mysterious guy and was on his case for months until new info made my day even better. By then, Tamers had shown and now rumours went about that Ryo Akiyama was going going to play a major role in there than just a few apperances in someones flash backs. At First I didnt believe this , since Tamers and Adventure didnt go in the same Dimention, but I was jumping up and down in utter joy when I visited AIA and found the rumours to be true! When the episode came out in Japan, and I watched the video clips, I knew I was totaly all for Ryo, and I wanted to show it. I had made 2 websites not long before (DigimonPotter for my Digimon and Harry Potter obsessions, and Mustang news for my schools website) The only info I had on Ryo was stashed away in the Mysterious characters section. I wanted to show my love for Ryo more than just a paragraph or 2 on my already growing website, so I made the difficult choice to make a website totally for Ryo. It was difficult because my busy schedual made me barely able to acces and update DigimonPotter, (but I was required to Update Mustang News every Day.) And not to mention I already had 5 accounts to balance and maintain. (please dont ask how 2 websites can take up 5 accounts) But by looking at Ryo, I knew I must show people how much I love the guy! ( I dont have a real boyfriend and thank goodness I never will, I'll make sure of that!) So I began to plan. First thing was to figure out what to call the website. Names like Ryo's Autumn Mountain; Mysterious Paradise and Ryo's Aloha buzzed through my mind, but eventually I settled with a simple Name, The Ryo Hale! But I soon found that this name brought on complications. The word Hale was being mis-pronounced. Even my schoolmates who live in Hawaii with me couldnt say it right! So here I will tell you how to say it properly. Pay attention all you non-Hawaiians and other people who never went to the Building next to Iolani Palace during Christmas to see the tree decorations. Hale (Ha-Le) has 2 syllables. It is a Hawaiian word that Means "House" So this place Is called The Ryo House! Get it through your heads please, I dont want my website to be called something that sounds like that Comet that came by recently, Hale-Bopp. (Hale in Hale-Bopp is pronounced totally different, It only has 1 syllable!) |
| Now that our Hawaiina language lesson is over, we can continue. (If your wondering about that building I mentioned, its a government building called The Honolulu Hale. Figures) I then created ANOTHER account (bashes head) just for The Ryo Hale. I didnt want this to get mixed up with all the stuff that makes up my other accounts. When I look back, I say it was a wise decision. Now I know where to get to The Ryo Hale without bumping into my other account contents. So, on November 7th 2001, 4 months after DigimonPotter was made, and 1 month after Mustang News was created, The Ryo Hale was born on the internet! Now I have my own place where I can post Ryo information. Even if this site has put more weithg on my shoulders, I'm happy to carry it ! |
