This current site is in Level 2 - For All the Ghosts. The name was inspired my the My chemical Romance song Ghost of You. How very cliche, but it is a nice song. This image was found at x_horizon's DeviantArt page. I found this lovely artist through Silver Winds. I belive he image is quite nice and I did some editing to truly make this my own. The colors are easy one the eyes in chossing a blue/grey feel for the design. The site's name, Sostantivo, is the Italian word for mirror. The name comes from my interest in language and other languages. I am Italian so I was drawn to the Italian translation of the word. I chose the word mirror because at the time I was trying to translate the word mirage. I didn't like how the word sounded and the next word in that caught my eye was mirror. I translated it and up came sostantivo. I thought that tha was an interesting name for a site. I picked the name and this site was born. |

As you know I am 14 years old. When I was about 11 I really wanted to have a website. So the first thing I did was test my knowlege of HTML by making an about me page on Neopets. Although I don't play anymore, you can view the page here. After that I had a Geocities site. That was hard. I could not for the life of me figure out how to make a layout. Of course then I was trying to use only Paint. Then I downloaded a free trial of PSP9 then I was off to a start. It took me a while to figure out how to use it but after i did; everything was going well. I had some people tell me that the add on Geocities was very annoying. So then I deleted my Geocities and switched to Freewebs. My Freewebs site was short-lived and only lasted or about a month before a switched to another host. While I was on Freewebs, I had a small graphic site containing mostly pixels and animated smilies for tagboards. I also made a few kao ani. My site can be viewed here although the graphics have been taken down. It was a small cute site but I really longed for being able to make a big graphic designs website. I wanted a real host, not just a sign up and get hosted deal. As a matter of fact I was then able to get a host. My lovely friend, Christiana Patton (from DeadJournal) was able to host me for a short time on her site borrowing-heaven.net. This site ended up closing and then she offered to host me again on medusa-molly.net but the name was too long and I could not find a good redirection host. That is when Mae, an online friend, got her siteup and running. She had choose to use the host Neochoice. I looked into that and I was hosted on the site. This site became very successful. I had called it Poof Wink graphics. It was a small continuation of my Freewebss site but on a much bigger scale. After about a year of having this site, Neochoice closed and I was unable to retrieve my files. I decided to stop designing and take a break. After all that I have decided to open a free graphics site. I am currently looking for a host so i won't have to use Geocities anymore. So hopefully, Sostantivo will have a new home soon. <3 |
