In life we exist as instances of our surroundings often changing often manipulated but always striving to stay original, trying not to forget who we really are. Change is inevitable, you cannot change change. Although sometimes the intellectual footprints that you leave behind on your surroundings seem to matter a lot, it is not real, it is the human weakness for being known or wanting to be known. We look for ourselves in others, at times trying to project ourselves onto others, in terms of views and opinions.

Even what you are reading now, in a way is an opinion, a projection of what I think. So is that what life is about? Going around leading materialistic lives, projecting our views and opinions on so called “experience”, while trying to kid ourselves that we are actually achieving something. Is that real? I think not.

So what is real? - Our constant search for the truth, knowingly and unknowingly. Be it in the form of materialistic needs, emotional needs or spiritual needs. Spiritually, popular opinion states that religion is the truth, others state that religion is a path to the truth but it is not the truth in itself. But then if religion is just the path, how can we walk without knowing the destination? So then arises the question of belief. Would you believe in something so much that you would design your life around it?

It is pretty obvious that religion can’t just be a part of your life, it is your life. Religion is centered around god and the path that we have to follow to be closer to him. God is often defined as the supreme being. The question of superiority has come to exist primarily because humans have two ways of dealing with things they don’t understand - either they scoff at it, or they imagine it to be something that is far greater than they can comprehend.

Religions that preach God lies within us are a lot more closer to the truth than we think. Some like to find that place through meditation, through prayer, strict adherence to religious protocols or probably a combination of all three. But truthfully speaking, are these achievable goals. Of course as time passes each generation likes to make its own version of what it feels is the truth. The generation I come from seems to share a mixed opinion that happiness is the closest you get to the truth. And that happiness is usually brought around by being with loved ones, sharing the joys and sorrows of life together, and leading the so called “good life” as we know it.

What if jumping of a building made me happy? What if killing my classmates, (St. Columbines High School shooting) made me happy? What if getting a bunch of my followers to crash a plain into a building made me happy? What if wiping out an entire country made me happy? Should I do it? Probably not. Of course I could back up my actions with sound reasoning and justification. But where does that leave us? Back to square one - instance - experience - influence. The instances we are in, our past experiences in similar instances (or the experience of others who have been in similar instances) and the influence this experience exerts on our current reaction to the present instance. Pretty confusing eh?

There are no answers in here. I probably would not know if the answers even exist. But the one idea I would like to put out there is - life is not entirely about what is around you. Take your time to think about what is within you, and maybe you will find what you are looking for. I for one have looked inside of me - guess what I found? .....lots of gas. Hahahaha have fun with your life and sorry for wasting your time.
