Polish and Porting

Polishing and porting of the intake requires some work and effort but are well worth it if you are looking to fully upgrade your 3.0L.  If you have the 90-up intake plenum then its even easier to port it with just a dremel tool with an aluminum oxide bit.  Basically you are removing and restrictions and rough edges to allow better airflow especially at the high end.  After polishing and porting the intake runners and plenum enough you will gain an average of 10-12hp but loose a little low end torque depending on how much you port it.

Here is a picture of a lower intake manifold with the fuel rail and injectors.  In my honest opinion the 3.0L aren't very hard to port yourself if you have the right tools and patience.  Just make sure you don't overdo it!!!!
