CHURCH

Well what to say about my church life. It has changed a ton these past couple of months. I think that it all started to change sometime in the spring of 1999. At that time I decided that something needed to change in my life. I wasn't real sure what it was but it became apparnet to me during the summer of 1999. The whole change started the night of July 20, 1999. That was the night that I was able to really to get to know the women of my dreams. I had worked the past couple of months with her and we were good freinds. I had known her family somewhat before because I had worked with her older sister the summer of 1997. I had heard of her church upbringing and at the time had thought it was somewhat strange. After going on several dates and getting to know her family and seeing how happy her family was, I wonder what could be causing the family to be so happy. I was given the book "Our Search for Happiness" by Elder M. Russell Ballard. The book was writing for someone like me. It did a excellent job describing the basic beliefs of the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-Day Saints, also known as the Mormon church. I was able to go to church with her and her family a couple of times before the end of the summer came and I had to go back to school. Once I got back up to school I was albe to find the local LDS ward and luckily for me it was only about a ten mintue walk from my house. Under NO PRESSURE from anyone at all, I decdied to attend church one Sunday. Well I got dressed up and walked into church one Sunday and stood up during Elders Quorum and introduced my self and said that I was thnking about joining the church. Well anyone that knows anything about the church knows that I was an missonary's dream.

Well after that Sunday, which if you asked anyone in the Elders Quorum at the time they would easily remember that Sunday, I started to take the new member discussions from some of the greatest elders I have ever meet, Elder Jube (from France) and Elder Kelly. Then after much prayer and talking with my parents, who weren't to happy about, I was baptized on October 26, 1999. I was confirmed on November 7, 1999. My life has only gotten better since then. I have recived several callings in the ward which include sacrament coordinator and FHE father of campus group. Just recently I was ordained an Elder by one of the first guys to introduce himself to me, Matt Vogl, on March 12, 2000. Over Spring Break I was able to attend the first ever General Conference held in the new conference center. It was one of the greatest experiences I have be able to go though. I know that I have many things to learn and know that with the help of are heavenly father I will learn and grow in the church.
