      Phenanthrene is by far the best lure courser in this litter. She has been running for over 11 years. She was off the field competitively for over two years after the tragic death of her littersister Palladium in a BIF run. Phenanthrene and Palladium were never separated: they lived together, played together, and slept together. After Palladium's death Phenanthrene seemed to have lost her desire to course. When she was introduced to LGRA racing almost three years ago, she regained back her desire to run and course. Since then she has earned her GRC title, is within a few points of her SGRC title, earned her Can FCh title and her LCM 3 title. In 2003, a few months shy of 8 years of age, Phenanthrene finished her LCM 4 title from the FCh stake. On October 23, 2004 she finished her Veteran ASFA FCh title becoming the first borzoi to do so. She completed her Veteran ASFA LCM title on October 1, 2005 becoming the first borzoi to earn this title; then on May 13, 2006 (at 10 years and 5 months of age) she completed her Veteran ASFA LCM 2 title becoming the first borzoi and the first non-whippet to earn this title. The next day she earned a first placement and 20 points towards her Veteran LCM 3 title. Phenanthrene still enjoys lure coursing and will continue to compete in both ASFA and AKC lure coursing events this year. On December 9, 2006 Phenanthrene finished her Veteran LCM 3 title (See the "New Happenings and Titles" page) at just 3 weeks shy of 11 years of age. She finshed 2006 as the #6 ASFA borzoi and the #10 AKC borzoi.
        The year 2007 was a great one for Phenanthrene. By the end of the year she had earned 3 more performance titles showing the younger borzoi that even at 11+ years of age she could still run with the best. On September 30, 2007 Phenanthrene finished her AKC LCX title, on November 4, 2007 she fnished her Veteran LCM 4 and on November 18, 2007 she finished her ORC title. She finished 2007 ranked #4 ASFA borzoi and #6 AKC borzoi.
                                              "WAY TO GO GIRL, Way to Go"

Phenanthrene, at 11.5 years of age, wins the novice class in conformation at the BCOA National over 3 other borzoi all of which were less than 2.5 years of age. She also competed in the LGRA race on April 21st finishing all three programs and in the lure coursing trial on April 22nd placing 2nd out of 4 in the veteran stake. On Monday April 23rd Phenanthrene competed in her first obedience trial; though she did not qualify she had a good time. Phenanthene was competing in the Triathalon event at the BCOA National. Though she did not win or place in the top 4 she was not also not last.

"FLASH" On September 30, 2007 Phenanthrene at 11 years 9+ months of age finished her AKC LCX title becoming the OLDEST sighthound, by several years, to earn this title. She will continue to lure course for the rest of 2007 and the beginning of 2008. Even though she may be slower than she used to be Phenanthrene still enjoys lure coursing. On April 27, 2008 Phenanthrene, at 12 years 4 months of age, finshes her last title before retirement, Veteran LCM 5.
     Phenanthrene is now ranked #9 lifetime in total dogs defeated in ASFA.
