| A THOUSAND YEARS FROM NOW by L.P. Nichols |
| Will there be a sight to see a thousand years from now? Polluted seas, concrete paths... no grass on which to walk? Will there still be starving cries from those too young to talk? Could there still be squalor, filth... throughout a groaning world? Rat-filled slums still part of life, some humans in despair! Will there still be absent landlords, hatred in the air? Or could there be a sparkling peace, no need for greedy bankers? And all those words like 'hate' or 'war', no longer thought or spoken? And could it be that trust exsists, and promises unbroken? Or maybe in those days to come, no creature will be there! No beast nor bird or crawling thing, no human left to care! |
