| An overweight tabby, blackish with grey Knock-knee'd and portly, walks with a sway Lissome no longer, answers to Marley Big enough soon to handle a Harley Appeared from nowhere, ravaged and tired Lording it here now, years since acquired Acts like a human, sprawls in his chair Watching TV, while shedding his hair Stretched right out, a cat-nap intended One cannot miss his stomach extended He offers for all a view of his girth The largest cat-pot on the face of the earth Playful and haughty, affectionate too No taste for hunting a varmint or two Personally chooses those who may pet Hisses and scratches when seeing the vet No time for canines, or other such creature Convinced that a feline's the best one to feature Dignified, regal..... self-rated star Surveys his domain from the roof of a car He does have one foe, a cat from the farm But both merely howl, neither do harm Marley's a softie, resembles a puma Who offers us warmth, and feline good humor.
