| The History Of Rydion | ||||||
| ~*This is a story teller mode of the history of Rydion. This is set in the future. Calina isn't a grammy juuuuust yet. The elderly amazon sits around the great fire pit in the center of the village. Her gentle amber eyes look over the crowd of children with love. Settling upon her great granddaughter for a moment. The same amber eyes looking into her's with excitement. Giving the little darling a soft wink she begins. "Hundreds of years ago..." She pauses her light voice filled with amusement as she always begins this way. Though the thought of understanding such a great amount would be rather hard for the amazon children. "That means more years than I am old...more years than your parents are old...and..." She points to the great oak tree off in the distance. "Older than that oak." As always the children gasp in awe and start to giggle then talk to each other in excitement. She lets them do this for a while before continuing. She starts again. Those nearest to her quiet immediately. The others will join in as well. "Hundreds of years ago. Rydion, the middle realm, was all realms. There was no Adonia where we live. There was no Mystique where some of your families live. There was just Rydion." She smiles gently nodding then continues. "Rydion had a great God. A powerful God. More powerful than the three that serve the realms today. The citizens of Rydion lived much like they live today. A mixture of power and normalcy. The realm then was used for those that no longer wanted to live on the dark realm...the one called Earth." "Well...as always a troublemaker then known as the mage Randar who in history became known as the zealot...started slowly working and weaving rumors that the God was not worthy of worship. The God was not worthy of Rydion and should be fought against...defied." A few little faces blink and become pale. The amazons know to respect their God. "Time went on and he gained more followers. His hatred spread throughout Rydion. He was a good speaker you see." She sips from her mug of chilled water then continues. Her voice low now. "The great God became angry of course. The followers who chose to stay devoted to the God were suddenly at war with those of the zealots. Then the God became sad seeing those that he loved being slaughtered...then hunted after...then die. That is when the great silence happened." She nods softly, "The God took away sound in Rydion. To teach them to be humble and listen to the God's word. This did not work. It only angered the zealot. He began to write and explain to his followers this was a sign of weakness again in the great God. Then the God became offended. The God split Rydion first into three separate realms. The zealot and his followers were all sent to the realm of Mystique. A dark underground realm where the Hell Lands reside. For those that have always followed and served and fought for the God...The God made Adonia, the perfect realm. These people were granted the gift of psionics. Which the God made available only to those of good nature and those that still followed the God's word. Rydion remained...but was different. The middle realm as we know it now was still under the silence. Until...the God made a final act. Dividing the great Divine power into three mortals. Two sisters, one the Queen of the Amazon, Calisto became the God of Adonia. The second an evil assassin that was feared by all and known for her lust of blood and violence, the darkest soul in old Rydion, Sabine became the God of Mystique. The God of Rydion, the third choice became Dorian. A general that always remained faithful to the One God's rulings and teachings." She smiles gently, "The One God left a final message to all. Not until all of his children learned to believe and follow again would the God return Rydion to it's proper form. And not until then would the God join the Divine power back into it's purest form...as one." She sips from the mug again. "This is why war is upon us. As you all know Calisto's daughter Demura is now in the realm of the Gods. Hundreds of years after the God divided all...Sabine and Calisto were at war for Rydion. Dorian's realm was attacked by Sabine's army constantly to the point where he and Calisto joined forces against Sabine. A great battle took place...the end of the first war...the amazon queen in power fought against Sabine. The great queen died by a simple slice from Sabine's poisoned blade. The God feared this queen for some reason and fought without honor. Because of this act...the immortal child of Calisto was granted entrance into the realm of the Gods and given Calisto's sword. She killed Sabine's mortal shell. And took her place in the realm of the Gods. Sending Sabine's soul into exile in a far away realm unable to return until Sabine learned the value of humanity and how to love." Frowning softly with a sigh, "When Sabine was brought back. An accident happened. She was to be returned to Mystique. But her escort was caught in a great fog from this other realm. The escorts last words were, "Return to your home". Sabine did...but was returned to the Hell Lands instead. Ravaged by the beasts and slowly driven insane as she healed. This, children, started the second war. "Calisto had stepped down from the realm of the Gods to live out her mortal life. Dorian had gone into a slumber when Sabine was exiled. He was too tired from the war...too saddened by those that were killed. So now...Sabine slowly regained her strength. The one that put her into exile was now a God. For hundreds of years again it seemed this battle would rage on. There would be no peace on Rydion...but...tell me...what happened?" Her amber eyes look out to the crowd of raised hands. Pointing to her grand daugther. The little girl stands up and smiles brightly announcing, "The one was born and the prophecy fullfilled!" The elderly amazon nods and chuckles, "Yes, Maida. The one was born. A child of Sabine's bloodline and Demura's bloodline would stop the war." The little girl speaks again, "Grammy, are you going to tell them you were that queen? The one that fought Sabine and died? Are you going to tell them how you were brought back?" The elderly amazon smiles gently getting a far off look in her eyes for a moment and shakes her head. Her voice alot lighter than the emotions passing through her as she replies, "Why should I, Maida? Everyone knows I am Calina." Written by Dixie Hilty. |
