Dragons were the first intelligent creatures of the world created by Gaea. She formed them from flares of mana that came off the maelstrom from which the born gods emerged. They can be found everywhere doing everything. Some are recluses keeping to themselves and their own kind; while others involve themselves in the affairs of the other races: some for noble purposes, some, not so. Many kinds abound, but it is the original species that still dominate.
Dragons are of all ages. A few of the first dragons still exist, tens of thousands of years after their creation. These "ancients", as they are called, form the top of the dragon hierarchy with their children and grandchildren known as "high dragons" below them. All other dragons exist below them with the drakes and other dragon-kin at the bottom. Beneath the painting of each known type of dragon is a brief description. |
