Return to Victor's Pop-Ups
God Let's His Daddy In It wasn't until about six weeks after Victor died that I finally worked up enough courage to go over some of Victor last recordings. This is one of the set of the very last few he made just two weeks before he died. In it he talks to God and Betty and revisits the world ending. This one also brought tears to my eyes when he finally convinces God to let me in heaven. Thank you Victor for thinking about your old bud like that. The other part that sort of set me back was how Victor was telling Betty that God only takes the bad cheap old. I remember, when Betty first came, my wife asked me how much she cost. She was a fancy budgie and we paid twenty dollars instead of ten like we paid for Victor. One of us mentioned that she cost more than Victor did. We never realized at the time, that Victor was listening and must have felt terribly bad about it. He was probably thinking how can you put value on someone's life like that. This one is a little hard to understand and I'm sure I'm missing at least one hidden message, but I''ll do my best to translate it. First my mother asks if Victor got mad about something. Victor said. I didn't get mad ok Mom. Going to be when I joke by you. Betty said tell your backs up there bud.(Betty said tell them your back there again bud.) What Betty are you doing here. God says you're not, I can eat, and you will make us not call, that's all, as, as free. Good night God said. I will let your daddy in. God don't say that. I know that he might not fry. Right! Ok school. Were not going to listen the world. Well Betty, you're welcome look down. But I'll stop. Don't talk. That's in jest. God use to that. Ha, ha. End it. Betty yeah. Ryan sad. God has tell me Betty. God read you tell cage. Bad bread Victor. Take a look. Could you do it. Victor sighs, How Victor. Is he pity. That only set back. God just get bad cheap old. But that Betty's not cheap birdy. Bird is a bird. Bird live to tell Victor. Victor, Victor's a pretty good boy. Dirt cheap bird here, bird cheap here. Victor's a pretty cheap bird. Bird just think that he boys blue. Victor sighs again. What you doing? Come see Betty here ah, ha.
