The second site that I searched for also had much more information than I expected. It has information about the founding of Rome and also the kings that ruled before the republic. It has information about the state of the republic early and later in life. It talks about the emperors after the republic. It then talks about the high point of the civilization and the decline. This site talks about the collapse of the roman Empire and its new transformation into something different. It talks about their religion and culture. The website explains the points of their society and also their powerful army. The site also has a few interactive maps of the areas of the Roman Italy, the empire itself and the city of Rome. This site also advertises future events and a search engine if you cannot find what you are looking for. This site also has a kids section and a bulleting board area. It has a picture index and a frequently asked questions section if you have a question that cannot be answered from the reading. This is also a very helpful site and has a slightly better organization that the first one.

The third site I looked at was the wikipedia site. This is a very reliable site and has quite a bit of information about ancient Rome. The organization of this page is very good. The table of contents is shown and it shows all the information that is displayed on the site. This site shows the Roman flag and the city seal. It shows when it was founded and some early history. This site does not have as much information as the other sites about ancient Rome. Most of this site is dedicated to the present day Rome. However, the information presented in this website was very helpful and extremely reliable. This site talks about the naming of Rome and the growth from a very small area to an entire empire. This site also talks about the first inhabitants of Rome. It also talks about the early dominance of Rome and its massive expansion later on. The site also talks about the dissolving of the emperors and the formation of a republic. Lastly, it talks about the lives of the people and the empire under the barbarian Byzantine rule. This site is very useful if you know what you are looking for.
