i finished my cable headband tonight!!!! it's very pretty. i can't wait to wear it! i also have like a skein and a half of yarn left in the same color and i want to make something else to go with it!!! so pretty. maybe a purse? i got another skein done on my afgan today too! yay! i went to my parents house and didn't have the best visit. my dad started talking about how if i go to DAAP i will have to co-op for a total of two years and ryan won't be able to come with me. and i got really sad. i don't know what i am going to do because i want to go to school for fashion design really badly, but i guess DAAP isn't really going to work for me. i am going to find out if i could co-op in cincinnati, or if there is any way i can make it work. i have been looking online for other schools with fashion design programs in ohio and they are all pretty far away, but ryan doesn't want to have to make new friends. hmmmm. so i am in a situation now... blah. i guess i will figure it out!

i am sick. i feel like crap. i need my mommy! i am going to my parents house to sit on the couch and knit with my mom. i can show off my newly learned skills! and they will feed me lots of delicious food- no preparing it- no cleaning up after myself. just laying around and knitting! yay! i am bringing my afgan and i am going to knit at least one skeins worth tonight! after thats done i decided to start on the irish hiking gloves- since i know how to do them!!! yay! maybe i will go all out and make an irish hiking scarf to go with it! i am hungry....

since i have been learning new things. i have been neglecting my half finished afgan. i really need to work on it, but i started a cabled headband today and i really want to finish it. it's coming along very nicely. i also bought some beautiful mohair/wool yarn and i have no idea what to make from it... hmmmm.... back to knitting

i am sick. blah. i finished knitting those earmuffs last night. i didn't sew them together well enough, so i will have to finish them up today. i think i've got the flu. last week i was holding my adorable (sick) newphew and he sneezed in my face like 4 times. i guess i had it coming. i am supposed to go to a stitch and bitch tonight, i don't know if i will be able to make it. i hope so. i am hoping to start working on the anthropolgy inspired capelet from craftster.http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=62184.0 i got some really pretty yarn to make it with. i don't know if i could figure it out on my own... michaels has a knitting night and i won't be able to go to it normally because of yoga, but that doesnt start until mid jan.... hmmm. anyhow i feel extremely unwell so i am going to go take a nice bath...mmmm

i just finished the lining of my first earmuff. knitty's muffy. it worked out pretty well, but i am not sure that i followed the pattern exactly. it was confusing to me, but i made it look pretty good. plus now i have the modified version that i can put on here! yay!!! i need to remodel my website!!! i must finish my muffs!

i got $40 in gift cards to michaels for christmas. i am excited. i am going to take a little trip there today. i am excited. i am going to get some cable needles. i have been watching the little movies on knittinghelp.com and i think that in theory i can do cables and i can knit wth circular needles! i tried to do a cable last night, substituting a yarn needle for a cable needle and it didn't work at all. i love to knit. i need to look for some patterns i want to do and buy yarn and stuff accordingly because i tend to go nuts in the craft store and then i can't make anything from a pattern.... so i am going to browse the internet

i have been working on the design for my craft room. i am so excited abiut getting it started. i am taking down the christmas tree tom. i picked out a table that i think will be perfect for the knitting machine. i need one that is very even, because it causes the needles to work if it isnt. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1984564. yeah it's from walmart, but its relatively cheap and perfect for my needs. my afgan is coming along very well. i'd say it's almost half way done. i am soooo happy christmas is over!!!! i am going to finish all of my presents before like june this year so i don't have to fuck with it and be all stressed in december.

i just noticed it is 4 in the morning. today we woke up early and had lunch with my sister then we went straight to ryans house and did christmas with his family. we had a very good time and i think that they really like t. heir presents. then we came home and went to my cousins like an hour later and i said i wouldn't drink. we all hung out (my cousins and my sister and brother in law and ross and ryan) for like 8 hours and we had a great time. now i am drunk and waiting for my spagetti-os to cook. yummy. i am like half way finished with my afgan

i bought myself a bond ultimate knitting machine for christmas! it is really awesome! i learned to use it pretty quickly, although i still have alot to learn. the video that comes with it is very informative and it shows you how to do tons of different stitches! cables look pretty easy on it and i am totally going to give fair isle a go very soon. i need a better table to put it on very badly! there arent very many cute patterns for the bond though. although it says converting hand knitting patterns to it is very easy! i can't wait until i learn cables and lace and all the other cool stuff on it and i can make lots of things! maybe when i start converting normal patterns to machine patterns i will make a website with them. and christmas is half way over! we did it with my family last night! it was super fun... the best christmas ever! both of my sisters were there, my brother in law and my adorable newphew and the parents. all of the siblings drank alot. we opened christmas presents and it took like 4 hours because we kept toasting and goofing off. everyone loved the presents we made for them and i think that they are all very proud of me for making all of them. ryan and i did pretty well. by the end of the night we were all wasted and we had tons of fun. i got the sound of music and we turned it on with the captions and sang along. sooo fun! tonight we are going to ryans family christmas party...

today was awesome! my mom, myself, and my two sisters had a spa day. we all got pedicures together and then we had lunch and then we got various treatments. my sister emily and i got massages...mmmmmm... my mom got a mud treatment and my sister alexis got reflexology. it was a really relaxing day. i have to make bath salts tom. i think i will finish up ryans beer mugs tonight. i will have to find a crafty way to do it because he is off work tonight... hmmm...

i have been with my family pretty much all day. i took the kitty to the vet and we went to my parent's house and ate dinner. i fed braydon. he is soooo adorable! i went to get my hair done and went back to my parents house. my brother in law got into town today and we all sat around and chatted for awhile. as braydon was getting ready to go to bed everyone started waving goodnight to him and he waved back! he is way too cute! i knitted like 3 rows today. oh well. i found a really cool website. it's called oldpatterns.com. tons and tons of vintage patterns! nice! i am going to start sewing alot more once i get my craft room. i am super rusty with the sewing machine!

i am working on my first afgan. i am knitting it on size 17 needles that are 12 inches long. grrrrr. fitting 80 stitches on 12 inches kind of sucks. the kittys keep fucking with it too! but i am really excited about knitting a big project. the yarn i am using is really pretty. its super bulky and a nice burnt orange color! mmmm. nice. i met with my advisor this morning and she told me i couldn't take history of fashion because its only open to DAAP majors. instead i am taking art history and it's required for fashion design majors so thats cool and it's the same day and time as the other class i was planning on taking, so thats pretty cool. i am going to knit now

i am getting stressed out because i have no idea what to knit and looking for patterns online sucks!!! i want lots and lots of knitting books. ryan got me puppy knits for christmas, but he gave it to me tonight because i was so upset about not having anything to knit and i don't have any needles required. the one pattern with the needles i have needs to be felted and i dont have any yarn i can felt with. argh.

today we went to pick my sister up from the airport and hung out with her at my parent's house. i took pictures of almost all of my knitting projects! my mom is putting them on a CD so i can put them on here tomorrow! yay! i tried to crochet again tonight and i am getting the hang of it, but i think i need to take a class at micheals to really figure it out. i really want to start knitting something for myself, but i don't know what! blah! i guess i will start browsing the web for patterns!

i am almost done with my christmas knitting! i can't wait to be done! we went and saw king kong tonight and i wasn't too fond of it, but i knitted a whole hat during it! ryan gave me a christmas present early tonight and i am very excited about it. it's a set of like 10 crochet hooks! i am going to learn very soon. ryan showed me a simple stich and it's really easy! so anyhow, the only christmas knitting i have left to do is to finish ryans guitar strap and knit a little baggy for him to keep his picks in. then i have to make some bath salts and dog treats and i am pretty much done with every handmade gift i am giving. i can't wait to post pictures i think i did very well this holiday season! i am going to give crocheting a go now. it's funny because i started working on some fingerless gloves before we left (my first project involving ribbing) and now all i wanna do is crochet!

ryan and ross are out christmas shopping. i started working on the beer mugs i am frosting for ryan. i haven't done too much today. when i woke up the fire alarm started going off and if i leave my room its way too loud to exist, so i stayed in bed and put earplugs in and i ended up falling asleep. i started a hat for my other sister last night. i guess i will finish it. ryan is taking me out to eat when he gets home. mmmmm indian. i am going to enjoy some yummy aloo saag with naan. chistmas is very close and i think we are actually going to finish all of our presents. i am getting my dad the beatles anthology book and i am getting ryan the beatles anthology DVD set (so i can watch it too). i completely forgot about the presents i have to buy. oh well. i guess i better get to knitting!

I slept for several hours and woke up at 11pm. i finished the shawl for my sister and it is very pretty. ryan finished his sisters hat and made a little pom pom for the top of it! yay! i think i ruined my moms cross stitch beyond fixing... i have to get on making the bath supplies and dog treats. only 9 days until christmas! i better get crafting!

i didn't go to bed at all last night. it's almost 5pm. i went to the cookie party at my mom's house, drank some wine, ended up getting drunk, my cousin drove me home, i got undrunk and now i feel like total crap. blah. i have the will to knit, but my body needs to sleep. grrrrr. i have a bit of a hard morning. i found out some bad news and ryan and i got into it a little. i have to sleep now, i guess i will try the knitting machine store first. oh and by the way, i can't take that class i want to take. shitty day.

5 am knitting
i am about to go to bed. i finished the scarf for ryans sister and blocked it. it's drying right now. i also started a shawl for my sister on size 17 needles and it is knitting up super fast! i am already like a third of the way done. ryan is sitting next to me knitting a hat for his sister. i found a class i want to take next quater. it's called history of fashion 1. it's a required class in DAAP for fashion design, so i might as well get it out of the way. i looked up the professor on ratemyprofessors.com and she got awesome ratings, and i talked to my cousin who goes to DAAP and she has taken the class and she said it's pretty easy and the professor is really cool. so hell yeah. i am going to need to take the ACT to get into the fashion design program. they don't offer another test until feb. i am worried because DAAP is so selective and i won't be able to apply until relatively late. I think that they only accept new students in the fall and if i am not accepted this fall, that would suck. yeah. so i guess i am going to sleep now because i have to wake up at 8 am tom. to call UC and see whats up with registering for that class. bluh... and my mommys cookie party is at 12 tom.

so my christmas crafting isn't going so well today. i fell asleep at about 4pm and woke up at 7pm. i haven't knitted anything all day! I will finish the scarf i have been working on tonight for sure but beside that i guess i will wait until tomorrow. i have been looking at knitting machines all night! i am getting really excited! I am thinking about getting a Silver Reed Model SK860. it's an electronic machine. it's mid gauge (6.5mm) it works with most yarn and looks hand knit! you can hook it up directly to your computer and the computer knits with you! there is software called designaknit and you can do anything with it! i am really excited. mid gauge machines can't do lace and i think you have to cable manually, but so what! maybe i'll save up and buy a standard and bulky machine in the future! i am going to love this so much! It does stockinette, fair isle, punch lace (whatever that is). it says you have to buy a ribber and i don't get that, like it doesn't rib on it's own, but whatever. and also i am looking at a pfaff on ebay. not too many details on that but i contacted the seller with questions! i am so excited and my craft room is going to fucking rock! yay good life!

i am so ready for christmas. by that i mean i am not ready for christmas at all. i have so many presents to make still and i am burned out on making them. i want to make some new stuff for myself! in my christmas crafting procrastination i went through 74 pages of completed projects on craftster.org bookmarking the one's i plan to make. i even casted on for a pair of really cute mary jane slippers! yeah i only got as far as casting on. the kittys got spayed yesterday and we had to wake up at (yikes) 7 am to get them to the vet on time and now they are totally gone on painkillers. poor cattys! but they are doing pretty well. ryan finished knitting the hat for his brother yesterday! i have to make a pom pom for the top now. i think i will make a list of what christmas presents i will make myself finish today! blah... *dog treats* the pom pom* libby's scarf* the bath salts* fuck cancer cross stitch* ryan's little guitar pick bag* phew. busy day ahead of me!

christmas is so soon. i am starting to freak out now. i have a lot of presents to complete! I have been working on ryan's guitar strap in stocking stitch and it looks really nice! it's about a third of the way done (well knitted). i am going to do all kinds of things to spruce it up, once it's knitted. I finished a mini cozy for my tiny ipod nano! it's very cute! i am dying not being able to post pictures! i am going to get my camera back tonight or tommorow! i started my first cross stitch. it's for my mom, it has bunnys and birds and it says "FUCK CANCER" really big. it's cute. i like cross stitching! i finally learned to purl! i knew i could learn! www.knittinghelp.com rocks! i freaked out at first because it kept curling up at the bottom, but the awesome people at craftser.org told me that is just what happens! i got home and started to make some legwarmers in rib stitch from The Cool Girls Guide to Knitting, but i can't purl well enough yet to combine knitting and purling in the same row. so i am working on a stocking stitch (guess what) ipod cozy!!! yay! i finished the one i started for myself and it looks really cool! i am so happy i learned to purl. its not that hard at all. but it opens up a whole new world in knitting for me! i am going to learn how to do (at least) one new technique a week! soon i will be cabling and doing lace! yay...

i started a new diet a few days back. knitting instead of eating! the results are awesome! so far i have lost 4 lbs and made a BUNCH of stuff. (i am eating, just counting calories and knitting instead of snacking) Last night i went on an i-pod cozy frenzy. I knitted 2 for my brother in law for christmas! And got half way through one for my ipod for christmas! I was up knitting until 6am. I can't wait to post pictures! I couldn't find any patterns for the exact ipod cozy i wanted, so i made one myself! my first successful pattern! I am going to make a links page on here as soon as i figure out how and put my ipod cozy pattern up with lots of pictures, and other cool free patterns i find online! yay! i made an important decision, today i WILL learn how to purl. it is time for me to stop being scared and just learn. not knowing is really holding me back. i have never been able to learn in the past, but today is another day, and i will be purling today away! it's time for me to finnish my personal cozy!

i am so happy to finally be done! i am done with school for this quater and it's winter break! no school until january 3! yay! i took my final exam for alegbra this morning!! I i think i did pretty good! my professor is going to call me and let me know what my grade is! and i finished my second triangle for the metallic gold bra! it's snowing really hard today! i haven't been able to leave the house. ryan got sent home from work because of the snow!! i am excited to get to hang out with him tonight! i hope he isn't in a bad mood when he gets home because he is stuck in traffic. i am going to teach myself how to increase tonight. i am thinking about doing the hair hankercheif on knitty. i am going to go look for patterns now.

wow. i have been knitting all day! I decided to try the bra thing again, this time with a pattern. I am using getcraftys bikini pattern.http://www.getcrafty.com/home_knitbikini.php i worked for about 3 hours on the first triangle and i finally finished it! yay! it looks awesome. much better than last night! i am using really pretty gold sparkly yarn and size 8 needles. i am trying to finish the other triangle by the time ryan gets home from work but i don't know how realistic that it. i got a row counter at the craft store today and it has come in super handy already! i think i should find a knitted thong pattern to go along with the bikini top. might be kinda itchy? i don't know much else...

I went to the knifty knitter class today and i made my first pair of socks! They are really warm and comfy. i love socks! they are so thich that they are more like slippers which is awesome. i got some new needles at the craft store. straight needles sizes 8, 9, 10, and 10.5. pretty cool. and i got my first pair of circular needles. I can't wait to try them out! knitting rocks!

i finished the knitted bra tonight. i think i need to follow patterns for the time being. my boobs totally hang out of it and the two triangles are way different sizes even though they had the exact same stitches. but it was excited anyhow! i put it on for ryan when he got home and he like it :) i also finished the flower i was working on and it looks pretty stupid. i think i will try another one. but i learned alot today! i also found a bunch of cool patterns for my knifty knitter- which totally rocks! i guess i am going to go try some of those now. and i will post pictures of all the stuff i have made as soon as i get my camera back!

my mom got me a knitting book today called The Cool Girls Guide to Knitting. it has some really cool patterns and the intructions are very easy. i learned how to decrease. i have tried to learn to purl a miliion times but it just won't work for some reason. tommorow ryan my mom and i are going to a knifty knitter class at micheals. i bet they could help me out with the purling. right now i am working on a cute white sparkly knitted flower. i also got some essential oils to make bath salts for christmas presents. i got patcholi, ylang ylang- mandarin, and a random mixed one. they smell pretty. i tried to knit a big hankercheif to tie around my hair, but it was way to small so i am thinking about turning it into a bra. yay fun night of knitting!!!
i got a website to show my crafts and pictures of various things. i hope i can make it work right though. i guess i am going to start putting pictures on it now.
