The dislike towards Ryan is so strong (and mutual) that the two are constantly in fights and even manage to accidentally burn down one of Kirsten's housing projects. When Ryan gets Luke to a hospital after he gets shot, Luke is thankful and eases up some.

But Dj realises this, and when she treats him like a servant around Summer, Dj cannot stand it, and wants Marissa to be proud of him, instead of ashamed.
