This will be a place where I can rant about wrestling in general as well as fics I've written or am in the process of writing. I'm not the most 'together' person, though, so don't expect this to be updated too often.
Thoughts for 10/20/03:
[60, 44, 66] Really enjoyed Raw tonight - well, for the most part.
Highlights of the night:
1. Chris Jericho (naturally) and Lance Storm in the ring together. That always equals good quality entertainment to me! But Lance, please, tone the cabbage patch down! Less is more!
2. The women's match. Damnn, but this division is getting better and better all the time! Very glad to see that they're not exclusively going for the T&A. Molly Holly and Victoria are great as heels, and not just for the usual blonde-hating schtick. And the bonus of it all, of course - Stevie Richards. I just wish they'd use him and Victoria a lil more. (Is Stevie still the 'GM' of Stevie (Sunday) Night Heat? Been too long since I've watched.)
3. Batista. For some reason, I loved him as Deacon Batista, and now, I love him as the Fourth Member of Evolution. Granted, Evolution isn't so hot to me, but with Batista, it is getting better. Hopefully, he'll be injury free from now on.
See? Kane can talk! Glad they're letting him get more mic time. He was really lacking in that area when he tagged with RVD.
Plotbunnies = Lance Storm / Chris Jericho , Stevie Richards / Christian / Chris Jericho
All for now.

Smackdown was wonderful this week. Kurt Angle came through with his doofiness once again! Damn, but that man is good at what he does. I was in stitches from the moment I realized that Kurtsky was gettin his thug on. Lol... what's not to love about him? And that dance! Woooo! And mini-Angle! Good lord, I just had too much fun with that segment! Then, later on, my blood-lust was satisfied after a pretty good match between the man beast and Eddie. Nothing like landing on sharp shards of glass to get Eddie up for the PPV! They even had to revert to black and white due to the amount of blood! All I can say is... oww. And then... Taker, of course! Normally, I hate to see him get beat down, but having the life choked out of him? I found strangely enticing. And they should corner the market on that shade of red! Deadman Red. Sounds like a really bad cologne.
A plot-bunny or two were born during the show, but have quickly died. Poor things. I can't seem to write much anymore. But that's no admission of defeat! I have writing in my blood; no tiny writers block could ever kill that!
Well, I've been less than coherent today. I should probably get to sleep now.

Well, since this site is mostly a home for my fics, I thought I might just talk about writing fics for a second. I have two fics right now that are on the cusp of being posted in the Yahoo groups I belong to. I have been holding onto these for quite some time now (one since March 10th, the other since about middle June). I'm usually pretty loose with my fics (I have only used a beta for one fic, and that wan't even wrestling related...) and these are no exception. I'm sure a beta would come in handy with these, as I love to always improve upon my fics, but I just can't bring myself to get one. But I can't bring myself to finish these two fics up. Frustrating, really. I'm thinking that I've got tomorrow free pretty much, so I might just get something done. Hopefully. It's just been so long since I've posted... it's driving me up the wall.

Well, today's rant, though still suffused with comments about my favorite guys... will be based around the internet's smarks or smart marks or whatever you want to call 'em. First off, I have no problems with these people. They do what they do because they love it (though by reading some of the stuff they've written lately, you wouldn't ever guess that). So, my beef isn't really with them. It's more with their attitudes. Yes, wrestling (just talking about WWE, here, as it's the major promotion anymore) is in a slump. And yeah, the creative team isn't exactly putting out top-notch storylines. I understand that it's frustrating to watch the company drowning, but good lord, why drone on and on about it, week after week? I had high hopes for Kane's storyline after he took the mask off (and after I stopped screaming that whoever decided to make him do so should rot). My hopes were dashed as he got tossed around, ideas that were actually pretty good forgotten soon after conception... but I also realize that bitching and moaning will only get me so far... and by that, I mean nowhere. WWE is not going to go out there and read the smarks' columns and say 'hey, know what? he's right! we are idiots! we don't know anything about wrestling, so lets quit and get someone knowledgeable about the business to take our places.' Uh huh. Sadly, we have to take whatever they feel like dishing out. And yeah, I agree that we do need to vent (as I am doing now). But reading these columns is just a frickin downer! Can we not look at what is still good about the business? Look past the stupid horriffic storylines that insult us and try to get just a tiny bit of good out of it? Cause aren't we all addicted to this? If so, why not try to make it as enjoyable as possible? Just for my sanity. That's all.
All right. I feel better. Though I'm not gonna buy this PPV, I'm really looking forward to finally getting this feud between Benoit and A-Train over with. They just don't work well together. Benoit vs. Storm. Now there's a match! Damn the brand extensions... Ah well. Glad to see more of Taker's chest this week. Very nice, as always. He's been coming out on top lots as of late. Wonder if that's gonna stop before the PPV? Surely Brock's gonna put a beatdown on him before then. And what, exactly, is a biker chain match? Sounds kinky... but then, I'm a slash writer. I can make peanut butter kinky.
Ok, off to bed with me. Been a looong day...
Thoughts for 9/26/03:
Taker was very... hmm... what's the word I'm looking for, here? Domineering? Breathtaking? Yummy? God, I love it when he puts the cocky young guys in their place! I'm looking forward to this PPV, and might actually buy this one. Which brings me to my rambling point tonight : gimmick matches.
Mind you, I'm not talking the gimmick battle royale type matches, here. I enjoy those. I'm talking the father vs. daughter type matches. The Raw announce team vs. the Sunday Night Heat announce team. I hate them. Now, once in a while is fine. Twice or three times a year, tops. But I could probably name about six that I've seen in just the past three months! WTF?!?! Come on! Give me guys who were TRAINED to wrestle. Not good ole JR who hasn't seen a gym in ten years! (No offense to JR, but geesh!) Give me some good solid wrestling, and build some good storylines to go with those good matches!
Now, to contradict myself. I love watching Jerry Lawler wrestle. I love when one of the guys will do the job to him just because he's in his home town of Memphis. For a long while there, I despised Raven because he refused to do so, and lost on a countout. Grr. But how often does WWE come to Memphis? Two times a year, approximately. Great, book him for those two times. Don't overuse him. Don't bump legitimate wrestlers off the event card for guys who shouldn't probably be in the ring anyways. (Al Snow, I give immunity to. He rocks.)
All right, enough of my rant.
Thoughts for 9/22/03:
Anxiously awaiting Raw tonight for one reason and one reason only. (Ok, so that's not true. Just play along.) KANE. More specifically, Kane's new look. He's got a damn good body, and now he's letting us know it! (Yeah, like I never noticed before!) I've just got a thing for big men. 'Taker, Kane, and up until the haircut, Big Sexy (mind you, he's still sexy, but it's just not the same.)
What is it with lots of haircuts in WWE? I don't know about anyone else, but I don't care to see thirty guys in crewcuts wrestling every week. I LIKE LONG HAIR! Some guys look fine after the haircut... Kane and Taker come to mind(even though I still prefer 'em both with long hair). As does Christian. But Big Kev? Test? Billy Kidman? (Thank GOD Stevie let his grow out!) Edge ever cuts his hair, I'll fall over dead.
Thoughts for 8/15/03:
'Taker was damn hot on SD! earlier. Straps came down... I pulled much of my hair out as I screamed and marked out. I ogled 'Taker and missed much of the rest of the match. Went back and watched it later, as I am obsessive about taping Raw and SD! if at all possible.
Starting to think that this lil column of mine will turn into my rants about 'Taker. Is that a bad thing? No. It's... a good thing.
Thoughts for 8/12/03:
Isn't this pic of Taker lovely? Got it from my fav. stop for all things 'Taker: Moontribes.com. Man, is he tasty, or what? I figured that this would, if nothing else, inspire me to write more. Hey, 'Taker is one of my favorite muses, though these fics usually end up on the backburner for long periods of time - I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to 'Taker. Pair that with a very short attention span, and I'm surprised I finish any fics at all!
Thoughts for 7/20/03:
Watched Velocity last night. Saw Matt Cappotelli. Got bitten - hard. Again. My Symbiosis fic with Matt and Bill DeMott was met with a great response from the WWFSML members (which I am very thankful for, since it was my pet project for quite a while there), and some had suggested that I write a sequel when Matt made it to the big show. Well... if Matt was just a jobber last night, then it ain't gonna happen. But if he becomes a Superstar (on Raw OR SD!) then I'll be more than willing to give a sequel a go! I've written plenty in my head for it, though I have a feeling I'll start from scratch and see what comes up.
Home.
