Presidents Message:

Late in the 1999 season, the idea of the Avon Lake Browns backers was born.  After visiting
many cities over the years and being treated so well by the different Browns Backers Clubs I decided that the group of people that I watched games with on a regular basis should become officially recognized.  I mean fans from out of town were putting allot of effort into these clubs, and I thought the least I could do was get a hometown group of guys together to form our own chapter.  Most of us sat together in section 119 of the Pound, or watched the games at my old house at 207 Parsons in Avon Lake.  Thus the original name of our club was the 119 & 207 Browns Backers.  We were about 20 members strong.

We are now officially known as the Avon Lake Browns Backers. Over the last 4-5 seasons we have become a regular fixture in the Muni Lot, have been featured in Browns Backers brochures and web sites, been recognized on the score board and represented on the field.  With the help of Vice President Charlie Beedle, we have grown to over 200 members and this past season raised almost $2000 for local charities.

The Browns Backers is about family and
friends getting together and doing the one thing they have in common.  Being Browns fans.  We get together at the beginning of the weekend and look ahead to Sundays game.  During the week, we rehash and second guess the play calling.  We talk about free agency and the draft during the off season.  We imagine what it will be like to relive 1964.  We talk about where we were during the double OT win over the Jets, the 2 Couch hail Mary victories, red right 88 or the drive.  We bleed Orange and Brown together.  Cleveland Browns Football has given me a lifetime of memories and friendships already, and I cant wait for more.
