ROB SIMPSON'S TRIP TO SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER 2001

This is a photographic presentation of some of the things I did on the trip. The site isn't on search engines and can't be accessed unless you have the URL. However please feel free to give others the URL. I went to LA as a patient at Dr Janov's Primal Center. Many of the friends I made are fellow patients and I haven't named them for reasons of privacy. I went to see veteran Hollywood actress Gloria Stuart interviewed in Santa Monica. She starred in Titanic and many other Hollywood films. Here I am with Gloria Stuart. (Click here to go a list of Gloria Stuart's films and her biography). On Sunday afternoons I went to Venice beach for a social visit and to play volleyball with friends from the Primal Center. Aussies rule! (Two photos). I often rode my bike with friends around Marina del Rey - the world's largest marina. (Two photos). Some of us know Betty, as she is a Traffic Control Officer near the Primal Center. Me playing Betty's piano, and Betty playing. (Two photos). Legendary film music composer Elmer Bernstein was honoured at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at Beverly Hills. I was fortunate enough to be there. My favourite film is Cecil B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments, magnificently scored by Elmer Bernstein. (Click here to go to the official Elmer Bernstein website). After group sessions at the Primal Center we would go to Abbot�s Habit for coffee. Here we are. (Two photos). My mate Ed and I having lunch on the marina. At a Thanksgiving party. (Two photos). There are some spectacular houses on the canals of Venice (California). At the Getty Center, LA�s stunning art museum. Who needs feet? (Two photos) Betty had a yard sale and I helped out. She is with her son Erick, daughter Gloria and a friend. (Two photos). Out for a drink at Santa Monica Mall. I went to Hollywood with a friend to see the yellow barn where Cecil B. DeMille and other pioneers started production on The Squaw Man in 1913. (It�s been moved a few times since). Inside the building were some Cecil B. DeMille props; and we were also able to see a fascinating film about the DeMille family. Then we had some afternoon tea. (Two photos). Marina del Rey had its annual Boat Parade. Festively decorated boats illuminate the marina as they sail around in the main channel. Here we are with my favourite in the background. Venice Beach walk.
