| Define Page Password Key
| You specify here the "Key" for this page. This is carried with the page and
used in the algorithm that in combination with the UserId and Master Key (entered in the
"Compiler Options" dialog) generates the password for the page. Once assigned,
if you change this then the generated password will change. You can put anything you like
here. Page Password Keys can be reviewed from the "Compiler Options" dialog. |
|
| Define Directory Password Key
| Similar to the Page Password Key, except this key applies to all the pages in the same
directory (but not subdirectories of it!). You can protect groups of pages by arranging
them in an appropriate directory structure and using Directory Keys. If you define both a
Page and Directory key that apply to the same page then the user will have to enter two
passwords, the Directroy Password first. This will probably confuse the user, so is maybe
not a good idea. |
|
| Regenerate Presentation Identifier
| Each presentation you compile acquires a unique identifier (technically a
"GUID", if you don't know what one is don't worry, you don't really need to
know). This is required to allow different presentations to store their persistent data
(favorites, cached passwords etc.) in a unique area without different presentations
"clashing". Once a Presentation Identifier is assigned to a presentation, which
happens the first time you compile it, it stays with the presentation for life no matter
how many more times you compile it. However, there may be circumstances where you wish to
compile the same presentation but assign it a new unique Presentation Identifier. This may
be because you've created a new version of your presentation which has changed quite
substantially and you don't want a user using his previous "Favorites" which may
no longer apply for example, or you may wish to force the user to re-enter Userids and
Passwords. Selecting this menu item causes the presentation to be assigned a new
Presentation Identifier. |

| Export Presentation Profile
| The Compiler Options for a presentation, including passwords, keys, preferences etc. are
held in the Registry on the compiling system, and is referenced by a key which contains
the home page filename and path. Using this command you can export that information to a
file. You will need to do this if you move to a new PC, otherwise you will lose the
information related to the presentation. You can then use the Import Presentation Profile
command (described below) to recover the information.
Whilst you could type most of it in again (laborious, especially if you use a lot of
passwords) you wouldn't be able to type in the Presentation Identifier (see above). That
wouldn't be a disaster, but it would mean that a new Presentation Identifier would be
generated, requiring re-entry of passwords etc. by the end user, who would also lose his
"favorites".
You will also need to export/import if you intend to move your HTML to a new directory
structure. Note that you have to export before you move the HTML,
then re-import it after you have moved the data.
To export the data simply open the "Home Page" of the presentation in question,
select the Export Presentation Profile command and specify the filename in the standard
Windows "Save" box. |
|
| Import Presentation Profile
| This command lets you import a previously exported Presentation Profile for a
presentation, after you changed the directory structure of the HTML or moved it to a new
system. To import the data, open the "Home" page of the presentation, select the
"Import Presentation Profile" command, and select the file required. |
