Welcome to the 7th Annual McManus Family Pumpkin Hurl
An Annual McManus Family Event
Held each year on the first Sunday following Halloween

Sunday, November 5, the McManus annual Pumpkin Launch was held.  The giant sling-shot was constructed again this year and all manner of community Jack-O-Lanterns were launched down the road!!
Many years ago the McManus family initiated a tradition of smashing pumpkins on the Sunday following Halloween.  Year after year we would come up with new and interesting means of smashing our left over Jack-o-Lanterns.  One year they were hurled from the top of a large stepladder, another they were hurled from the roof of the garage.

When we moved to Issaquah, Dad swears he chose our home by the pumpkin smashing opportunities.  Three years ago he constructed our first sling shot pumpkin hurler between the two trees in front of the house.  Modifications to the system were made each year to perfect the hurl.  The following pictures portray the fun and games the whole neighborhood enjoys on the Sunday after Halloween instead of going to church!
