| Here is my project, a custom touring trailer, for your motorcycle or car. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Ok, so I see motorcycles pulling trailers and I think I would like to pull a trailer too. I could use the bike to get groceries, go on a camping trip or take the bicycles to the mountains for a little moutainbiking, etc. Yeah, I could expand the use of my motorcycle; I could ride my bike more. So the journey begins... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| This is my bike and and trailer loaded up. It is a 1995 Suzuki Intruder 1400. I bought it used in 2002 and have added a windshield, saddlebags, driver's backrest and a trailer hitch. Trailer hitch click here. Driver's backrest click here. |

| I bought this Harbor Freight trailer. It's 48X40" with 8" wheels. It has a 1000 lb. payload capacity and ways 125 lbs. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I put on a plywood floor and pulled it down the road behind the car to pick up a love seat. With the couch on it, it towed just fine, but empty, it bounced around like crazy. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I removed 1 leaf from each spring pack giving it a payload capacity of 500 lb and lowered the tire pressure to 35 lbs. I got the idea from www.herberts.org/wayne/valk/trailer.htm. Then, I replaced all the lag bolts, which held the plywood on, with eyebolts and sprayed to whole thing black. Next, I added two side marker lights to the rear of the trailer and used them for blinker lights because the motorcycle is a 5-wire hookup and the trailer was a 4-wire hookup (now a 5 wire). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
