Ingredients:
2 C. Elbow noodles
1/2 Lbs. Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 C. Milk
Salt
Fresh ground black pepper
Procedure:
Cook the pasta in a large amount of boiling water until firm, but
tender to the bit, then drain
Return the pasta to the pot and over medium heat add the cheese and
milk. Reheat until hot, stirring occasionally
Season to taste and add any other food product at this time
Serve and garnish
Notes:
Other types of pasta can be used
Other types of cheeses can be used
Other food items such as sautéd vegetabels and meats can also
be added
Garnish with sprigs or chopped fresh herbs
Ingredients:
1 Package (120 gr.) Traditional sage stuffing
1 1/4 C. Water
2 T. Butter
6 Zucchini (8 inches long)
2 C. Boiling water
Salt
1 Lbs. Ground beef
1/4 C. Mushrooms, chopped
1/2 C. Walnuts, chopped
1/4 C. Parmesan cheese, grated
Procedure:
Prepare stuffing in water and butter according to package directions
Wash zucchini and cook in boiling water for 5 to 8 minutes. Drain and
cool slightly. Cut cooked zucchini in half, lengthwise. Scoop out each
center, leaving 1/4 inch shell, sprinkle the shel with salt. Finely chop
the center pulp and set aside
Cook the ground beef until browned, then drain the fat
Add the chopped zucchini pulp and mushrooms, cook until the zucchini
is tender
Stir into the prepared stuffing and add the nuts
Fill the zucchini shells with stuffing mixture, sprinkle with cheese
Arrange the boats in a shallow baking pan and bake in a preheated
350°F oven for about 20 minutes, or until hot
Serve and garnish
Notes:
Can be served on a bed of cooked rice
Garnish with fresh herbs, tomatoes, etc.
The stuffing can be made from scratch
Ingredients:
1/4 C. Butter
3/4 C. Cracker crumbs
1 t. Salt
1/8 t. Black pepper
1/4 t. Garlic powder
2 1/2 to 3 Lbs. Broiler-fryer, cut into 1/4 or 1/8
Procedure:
In a 13 by 9 inch baking dish, melt butterin a preheated 400°F
oven
In a large bowl, mix the cracker crumbs and seasonings
Roll the chicken pieces in the melted butter, the toss them in the
crumbs to coat all the sides
Bake in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until cooked
Garnish and serve
Notes:
Other kinds of meat or seafood such as pork chops, veal, haddock,
scallops, etc. can be used in place of the chicken
Serve with potato, or rice and veges.
Ingredients:
1 C. Alphabet pasta
1 C. Tomatoe purée
1 C. Cheddar cheese, grated
Salt
Fresh ground black pepper
Procedure:
Cook the pasta in a large amount of boiling water until done. Drain,
and cool
In a large skillet add the cooked pasta, tomato purée and
cheese. Heat over med-high heat until hot and the cheese has melted
Season to taste
Serve and garnish
Notes:
Other food items such as vegetables can be added
Garnish with parsley sprigs
Ingredients:
6 Wienners, or Franfurters
6 Hot dog buns
6 Cheddar cheese slices
Condiments
Bacon bits
Onion, fine diced
Sauerkraut
Procedure:
Boil or steam the wienners until cooked, about 2 or more mins.
Place each one into it's own bun
Place a slice of cheese on each dog and finish dressing it with the
rest of the ingredients to your taste
Serve
Notes:
Use such condiments as mustard, relish, ketchup, etc.
You can stem the buns before serving
Serve with other foods such as potato chips, french fries, salad, etc.
Any other food product can be used as a topping
