Ranma Wept. He wept as he held the body of his
fiancée who he had failed to protect, someone who had lost her life as a
result. His clothes lay in tatters around his shoulders. He didn't know why he
hadn't changed with all of the water flying around. All of his dead friends
had. Even his father had assumed his panda form and lay two meters away, a
badly burned panda corpse.
Glancing up Ranma looked at the corpses of his
friends. It was only then that he noticed a badly burned pig squirming in the
mud a short distance away. Gently lowering Akane's
corpse to the ground he hurried over to the twitching pig. He cupped some of
the water from a nearby puddle and heated it with his ki.
Splashing Ryoga with it revealed a fatally injured,
naked boy.
”Ranma ...”
”Ryoga, hold still the Amazon village is nearby - we
can get you some help.'”
”No Ranma, this is it.” The lost boy gasped. “I'm
Sorry for always attacking and blaming you.” Ryoga
whispered as he struggled for words and breath.
”Ryoga I know, we have always been friends.”
”Ranma let me give you one of my strongest techniques
as a gift before I die” Ryoga's whispers became
softer and softer.
Ranma bent over to hear his friends dying words,
intent on honoring his last request. Ryoga whispered
something into Ranmas ear, and then his eyes closed.
As Ranma walked away unable to bear watching Ryoga draw his last breath Ryoga
thought his last thoughts 'I've finally got my revenge Ranma,
now you will know what it is like'.
Taking stock of the area, which was littered with the corpses of his friends,
mentors, and pops were too much for Ranma and he
screamed his anguish to the heavens. Manliness was the last thing on his mind
as he let go of his grief.
