At the beginning of this year I began chatting with an angel *smile* We met in a chat room where I had a bad habit of posting my poetry and he was always kind enough to show an interest in what I wrote (thankyou Bill!). It wasn't until April that we really started talking, and from then on we quickly became the best of friends. Although he had been reading my poetry for quite some time, it wasn't until shortly after I sent him the poem "Angel Wings" in May that I had the opportunity to hear his beautiful music; and I fell in love with it instantly. Although drums are his specialty (which he plays wonderfully) he is also extremely talented at playing the guitar, and at creating original works of art with it. Which is what he did with "Angel Wings", and from that point on we started collaborating on music. With my words and his beautiful songs, we have begun a fascinating journey. |

a The first of Brandi's poems I saw posted in the room just amazed me. Of course I showed an interest! (you're welcome, Brandi). It was like she KNEW me and was putting my thoughts and emotions into words. As our friendship has grown, I've come to realize that she does know me, much better than any one.
When Brandi sent me Angel Wings, I was floored. I think it is such a beautiful work of art, and the music just kind of wrote itself, I'd never had that happen to me before. Well Brandi instantly fell in love with the song, and to tell you the truth, I'm quite proud of it, too.
I'd had a couple of melodies kicking around in my head for a couple of years, but I'm not a very good writer. Brandi is, though, so I sent her those wordless tunes and the songs that came back were incredible, those were "Always" and "Every Time I Watch". She captured the spirit of these melodies beautifully.
With her writing and her words of encouragement, I find that melodies are forming much more often. Thankyou, Brandi, for making my songs complete and for joining me on this journey! |
