Notes:
William was only seventeen years old when he enlisted in the War For Southern Independence, Company D, Forty Third Missouri Infantry.  During the Price raid he was captured 15 Oct. 1864, at Glasgow, MO, but was soon paroled and sent to Benton Barracks near St. Louis.  He was mustered out 30 June 1865.
