   First Sergeant Julian A. Copelan left May 29 to report back to Fort McPherson, after spending a 90-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Copelan of Rutledge.
   Sgt. Copelan has been in the service 33 months, spending 30 months overseas where he participated in the liberation of Luzon in the Philippines. Wounded twice in combat, he wears the Purple Heart. After V-J Day he was stationed in Tokyo.
   Sgt. Copelan has re-enlisted for an 18-month period and expects to be returned to Japan as part of the occupation forces.
