| Hattie Eloise "Sister" Copelan OBITUARY Athens Daily New/Banner Herald, 27 Nov. 1996 Hattie E. Sidwell Hattie Eloise Sidwell, 88, of 1011 Apalachee Road died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 1996. A native of Greene County, Mrs. Sidwell was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith. Graveside services will be a 2 p.m. today in Apalachee Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Pritchett officiating. Survivors include her husband, Alfonza Sidwell; two sons, Grady Sidwell, Madison, and J. T. Sidwell, Eatonton; three daughters, Lucille Godwin and Vivian Ferguson, both of Madison, and Nettie C. Goodson, Macon; two sisters, Annette Wiley, rutledge, and Ivie Doggot, Atlanta; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was the daughter of the late W.A. Copelan and the late Nettie Baugh Copelan. She was born May 13, 1908. She was a housewife. She was a member of Walker Baptist Church in Greensboro. Mrs. Sidwell is survived by her husband, Mr. Alfonza Sidwell, of Madison; three daughters, Katie Sidwell Godwin and Vivian Sidwell Ferguson, both of Madison, and Nettie Sidwell Goodson, of Macon; two sons: Grady Sidwell of Madison and J.T. Sidwell of Eatonton; two sisters: Annette Wiley, of Rutledge and Ivor Doggett of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. One daughter, Inez Sidwell Young, preceded her in death. Graveside services were held Wednesday, November 27, at two o'clock, at Prior Cemetery at Apalachee. The Reverend Mike Pritchett officiated.
