SERVICES SET FOR SHIRLEY YOUNG, 61
Mr. Shirley Young, 61, died January 10, 1984 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, following a lengthy illness.
He was born November 26, 1922 in Pickens County, the son of the late Joseph Washington and Amanda Holmes Young. He was married to the late Inez Sidwell Young.
Mr. Young is survived two daughters, Mrs. Mike Pritchett and Mrs. Ronnie Stovall, both of Madison, three brothers, Isaac Young of Snellville, Herman Young of Hiawassee, and Noah Young of Orangeburg, South Carolina; and seven sisters, Mrs. Odell Cochran of Dalton, Mrs,. Woodrow Holbert, Mrs. Jay Moss, and Mrs. John Conner, all of Madison; Mrs. Damon Moss of Chamblee, Mrs. Willie Faye Williams of Macon, and Mrs. Ira Sargent of College Park.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, January 12, at 11 a.m. at Apalachee Baptist Church. The Reverend Thomas Brown will officiate.
Interment will be held at Apalachee Cemetery.
Simmons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
