From The Madisonian, 30 July, 1915: Death of Mrs. Sidwell. ---- Saturday afternoon last, at her home near Apalachee, occurred the death of Mrs. John Sidwell, Sr. Mrs Sidwell was formerly Miss Sarah Ann Almand, daughter of Morgan Almand. She was about 70 years of age, and was a woman of many excellent traits of character. She is survived by her husband and three children, John T. Sidwell, Mrs. Jim Almond, and Mrs. Felix Ruork, Sr., of Bostwick. The funeral ocurred from Apalachee Baptist Church Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. W. McWhorter, of Watkinsville, and attended by a large circle of sorrowing relatives and friends. Mr. Sidwell, himself quited aged and infirm, is a veteran of the Confederate Army, and a man of sterling character and worth. The loss of his life-companion falls heavily on him. He has the sympathy of many neighbors and friends.
