Many undocumented sources state that she is the descendent of this James Baugh, which would make her my sixth cousin once removed. I'd like to be able to prove it beyond any doubt, but my resources are limited. Frances Ethel Gumm (Judy Garland) born 10 June 1922, MN to Frank A. Gumm and Ethel M. Milne (married about 1913); changed her name to Frances Garland in 1934 at the suggestion of George Jessel who had made fun of the name Gumm. Gumm (Gunn) in the 1900 census along with Judy Garland's father Frank; Elizabeth is listed as Clem Baugh with widowed mother Mary, brother 19 and sister 10, in the 1870 census, Murfreesboro Ward 6, Rutherford, TN; listed as C. W. Baugh with parents J. A. (John Aldridge) Baugh and M. (Mary) A. Baugh in the 1860 census, Trimble, Rutherford, TN.

James Baugh d. 1799 VA. m. Agnes Batte. Listed in some undocumented sources as parents of Richard Baugh. James is the documented son of Thomas Baugh, b. about 1690, and documented grandson of James Baugh, b. about 1655, and my great X 6 grandfather.
