Enlisted at DesArc, AR, 3 September 1861. He was a private in Co. B, 10th Arkansas Infantry, which served in Missouri, Kentucky, at Shiloh, was captured at Vicksburg, and in 1865 participated in Prince's Missouri Expedition after exchange. It was in this service that he was killed. 1
