Listed as a farmer in the 1860 Federal Census, Township 62, Gentry, MO (indexed as Boatright); wife Sarah listed as age 20, born in Kentucky.

Enlisted at DesArc, AR, 3 September 1861.  He was a private in Co. B, 10th Arkansas Infantry, which served in Missouri, Kentucky, at Shiloh, was captured at Vicksburg, and in 1865 participated in Prince's Missouri Expedition after exchange.  It was in this service that he was killed.
