GEORGE EMORY COPELAN
George Emory Copelan died July 20 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Mr.
Copelan, a forester, was a native of Greene County, born April 22, 1923, the
son of Jasper Frazier Copelan and Hester Adams Copelan.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dean Hill Copelan, Greensboro; sons, Mr.
George Copelan, Madison; Mr. Wynn Copelan and Mr. Jackie Copelan, both of
Greensboro; brother, Mr. Frazier Copelan, Greensboro; sisters, Mrs. Mary Willie
Phelps, Forest park; Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas, Savannah; Mrs. Evolene Smith, Kings
Mountain, North Carolina; and Mrs. Dottie Jarard, Siloam; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held July 22 at Fork Chapel Methodist Church in
Greshamville at Two o'clock. The Reverend Doug Bowers officiated. Burial was
in Greensboro City Cemetery.
