SERVICES FOR MRS. YOUNG
Mrs. Amanda Jane Young of Apalachee, died December 26 following a long illness. She was 85.
Born January 29, 1891, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Holmes and Nancy Alice Cox, and a native of Pickens County, Georgia.
She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Alice Holbert, Mrs. Bonnie Moss, and Mrs. Claudella Conner, all of Madison; Mrs. Odella Cochran of Dalton; Mrs. Mable Moss of Chamblee; Mrs. Willie Faye Williams of Macon; and Mrs. Dorothy Sargent of College Park; four sons, Isaac Young of Grayson; Herman Young of Young Harris; Shirley Young of Apalachee; and Noah Young of Orangeburg, South Carolina; forty-four grandchildren; forty-nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Apalachee Baptist Church with Reverend Cecil Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Prior Cemetery.
Simmons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
