| What exactly is patriotism? Every one talks about it since september eleventh but never really cared before, at least for the last twenty years. For my part, it didn't took me two planes to make my colours come out. They were present long before. I always showed my flag each day presenting to the world to whom I fight for and to whom I believe in. The fact now is that almost every self-respecting American uses their flag each day with a renewed pride. Everyone in the world knows that Americans are a nation that holds themselves together in times of need. That theory and its meaning surfaced as early as the Independance. Pearl Harbor is another well known example of the way we survive as a united nation. Indeed it doesn't matter from which part of the country you are, it doesn't matter if your black, white or even Japanese, its the fact that we are Americans and we help our "brothers" in desperate times. 9-11 motivated a new young generation to be proud of America. It showed to the world that us "supposedly" rich business men and arrogant people are just as brave and free as anyone else. Being patriotic is to respect the flag of the United-States, to cherish its newborn, to protect freedom around the globe. It's the will to put his life on the line to save a friend, or an unknown person. It's the might of our character, from WWII to the smalest pleasures of a Car Wash. Life on earth is a hazardous situation considering the terrorist threats but knowing that we are Americans, we can conquer any problem. This new war going on might be hard, even endoarse many casualties like we know of now, but this prooves to the world that we are proud to be apart of the United-States of America and dying for it is a noble cause........ |
