Rick Wakeman and the New ERE April 19, 2001; in São Paulo Brasil - My review of the concert
A great photo from the concert - courtesy of the Sanchez brothers, Jacintho and Fernando
I saw this live, right here in the US via a webcast, thanks to www.ajato.com.br
Maria Lucia has many pictures from the Brasilian shows
I also have a few pictures from the show, one with a young fan (-:, Rick giving lessons before the show, Rick and Ant Glynne jamming, the classic father and son duel, and Rick checking out the Banda Sinfônica Jovem do Estado de São Paulo [Monica Giardini conducting] I hear Rick was impressed! - Thanks to the Sanchez brothers again! The Banda Sinfônica Jovem do Estado de São Paulo has a CD recently released which has a wonderful performance of Arthur, in it's entirety.
Chapter 19 - "Roundabout" from "RICK WAKEMAN The Caped Crusader" by Dan Wooding
I first saw Rick perform in 1977 with Yes, on their "Going For The One" tour. I will never forget that show!! Rick had 2 stages for all of his keyboards, one at stage level, and the second was 3 or 4 steps above, directly behind his stage level array. As I recall, he had at least 1/2 a dozen keyboards on each.
I have 2 newspaper articles regarding this concert. First, 2 days before the concert, and secondly, the day after the show. This was a wild week - in addition to having Rick come to town with Yes, "Son of Sam" was captured, the Space Shuttle Enterprise flew for the first time, Elvis was coming to Portland 4 days after Yes - sadly, Elvis passed away 2 days after the Yes concert - my mom still has her tickets for that show.
I also submitted questions to Rick's FAQ'S at RWCC, and have included my questions and Rick's responses here. To see all the FAQ'S, and ask your own, go to RWCC.
