| Welcome to the US Chronicle! This is the initial issue of the US Chronicle in CWOL 7. The owner, Mr. Ryan Akers, leave the following message for print: Ladies and Gentlemen of the CWOL Community. The Akers Publishing Corporation is back. We will, regrettably, not be able to keep up our previous pace of four separate publication at once, though we do plan to expand our coverage past the US Chronicle. We plan to hold up the Chronicle as a premier paper in CWOL 7, and hope you join us often for a good tale. Factuality is not promised. War is sticky business, and often stories are mangled in transmission (intentionally and otherwise). Just because we print it, it may not be 100% certified fact. I promise. However, we will endeavor to check all sources, double check facts, and get the story correct- just don't expect it to be perfect. Thanks for reading. Come back soon! |

| UPP Sweeps National Election! The Union Preservation Party now controls all branches of the Federal Government, and a substatial number of Governors Seats. With their rapid rise to dominance, other parties are being forced to fall into line.; Already, the Truculent Party, headed by their Presidential Nominee, Ryan Akers of Pennsylvania, have pledged to support in whatever way possible the advancement of the Union through the policies of the UPP. President Mathena, extended an olive branch to all parties in the Union by offering various administrative posts to high ranking members of those parties. Congress began on a note of Compromise, as Jim Voege has been approved as Secretary of War by a unanimous vote. Currently, the Congress is considering the appointment of officers in the Army, and will soon turn to the overall War Plan, as the Rebels are beginning to get a little antsy. More later. |
Newbies: An Editorial Lately, much has been made of allowing newer players an expanded role in the game.; We must be careful with this, however. I know of MANY new members over the years who chose to have a subdued role early in their career, prefering instead to get the hang of CWOL before making huge decisions. We must, as a player body, protect the future of CWOL by integrating new players into the decision making process, allowing them to be heavily involved, etc.... However, we must also be sure not to swamp them so as to destroy the desire to stay in the game. Many good players have been lost due to having too many responsibilities and too high expectations from above. Please be cautious with our new members- we like them. Let's treat them fairly, and give only as much responsibility to them as they request. Here's to a fun, exciting, and well played CWOL VII. ---Ryan Akers. |
