Cookies (from Elsie)One of my favorite candy bars is Payday, with it's salted
peanuts and sweet caramel. This recipe makes a snack that tastes almost exactly the same.
Salty corn chips, peanuts, sweet caramel.
Spread corn chips in a greased 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring corn syrup and sugar to a boil. Remove from the heat; stir in peanut butter until smooth. Pour over corn chips. Cool. Break into pieces and layer in wax paper for storage. (Note: We have yet to find a 10-1/2 ounce bag of corn chips, all the corn chips around here come in bigger bags. So, we just use more chips.) |
