The Real World's drama-packed twelfth season was set in the world's most infamous and decadent destination playground, Las Vegas. Marking a break with tradition, the season's seven strangers found their new home in a spectacular three-bedroom high-roller penthouse suite in Las Vegas' hippest luxury hotel, the Palms Resort and Casino.

With the desert fun-zone of Las Vegas as their 24-seven stage, the cast embarked on a sexy five-month journey, which includes two cast romances--Steven and Trishelle and Alton and Irulan.

The Palms Resort and Casino, in addition to being their home base, also employed this season's seven with jobs as club promoters. The cast also had the opportunity to gain new perspective on one another on a thrilling international vacation to Australia.

Born to a white mother and a black father, Irulan was loved deeply and unconditionally by both parents, and recalls an idyllic early childhood. When she was six, her father became very ill, dying one year later. Irulan and her mother leaned on one another as they struggled to process her father's death. As a result, their relationship deepened into what her friends describe as an extraordinary bond. With a premium placed on her beauty, Irulan struggled briefly with body-image issues during her high school years, which she overcame through sheer force of will. Recently, she has been discovering and honing her artistic and intellectual talents through her studies at Parsons School of Design. While people may be initially attracted to Irulan's beauty and talent, they soon discover that she is strong and not afraid of conflict. While she and her boyfriend, Gabe, currently have an open relationship that allows them to see other people, he would be unhappy if she were to start something up with one of her roommates.

The very picture of all-American charisma and good looks, Steven is more than meets the eye. While Steven is straight and very comfortable with his sexuality, he supported himself in business school working as a topless bartender in a popular Texas gay bar. Essentially on his own since age 16, Steven had to learn how to take care of himself from an early age, both physically and emotionally. Always bent on self-improvement and growth, Steven has overcome considerable odds and has grown into a self-assured young man. Steven has a fun-loving sense of humor that has helped him keep things in perspective through difficult times. At the age of 22, in the midst of a troubled period in his life, Steven fell in love and got married. This marriage helped him turn his life in a more positive direction. While he is immensely grateful for the positive influence his wife has had on him, the marriage ultimately failed. Upon moving to Las Vegas, he is in the midst of divorce proceedings and is open and excited to meet new women.
