Buddah

The collage series using cut out images from mixed sources. These maps resemble mythic world often devoid of human life and create rich textured environments of patterns. The work is created by assembling a mixture of photographs and texts together in a way that layers reality.

many mythic traditions have visualized the Goddess as facets of trinity or a triple trinity such as depictions of the Three Graces and the Nine Muses in Greek and Roman art.

muse

A meditative piece highlighting the personalities of the muse in ancient art. Looking into the eyes of the muse in an un-romanticized painting created on paper gives the viewer a transcendental experience.

The paintings are created by layering gesso on heavy paper or Bristol board, then using oil mixed with turpentine I apply layers of paint to create the needed effects

Saturn

This project interweaves real and imaginary walks in nature and faraway places. As summer draws nearer with more daylight hours for activities, I begin to map out trips to secluded forests and beaches. Paintings are graphed out in storyboard fashion with each scene a vignette of a collected artifact or a visual memory, which will take place during the walk.

Block prints

Since childhood I have arranged and organized space into balanced geometric images. Drawings of my designs include geometric and symmetrical images, a way of organizing space. These prints are influenced by Japanese, Art Nouveau, Celtic art, or geometric images and from many hours of drawing. Print designs are first drawn on paper, next transferred and carved onto a special carving block, and hand inked onto paper.
