A GROUP OF DEAR FRIENDS!

Virgil is the older gentlemen of the three* in the photograph. The woman Virgil's lovely bride of some years. How do you get so lucky that God decides to put a man like Virgil in your life? Such a sweet person with a good old Southern Drawl that was famous for his cheerful "If I was any better I'd be twins"--but mostly that soft and low "praise God" that came from his heart.

Virgil was part of the Greatest Generation. He had a million stories from serving in WWII as a combat pilot. Virgil revealed that he never let his "Mama" know that he had left the US. He told her that he had his friends bring her gifts from "Over There".

Virgil had other adventures as well. He was a rodeo bull rider and I believe he also was a professional rollerskater in the Roller Derby. His role in my life was no less daunting. He took a non-believer and brought her to Jesus.

How could you doubt when you had such an awesome example of pure faith and love.

Virgil was called home after enduring a long and painful illness. Did he suffer? If he did he never let on, instead he used the opportunity to preach the Gospel to his medical staff.

I know Virgil has a special place in heaven and that there will be a crowd around him when we meet again. Good Bless you Virgil!.
* The other two men are (small) G.Wineman's grandson and (tall) Greg Wineman himself.

Greg is sales manager of RVTown in Everett WA. He spent time in Thailand helping the children years before the terrible tsunami hit. Click on the Madonna for a link to both RV Town and the orphanage.
