Before going to Gabon, I spent 2 weeks vacation in Spain.
A last game of snooker before leaving .. don't think they'll have snookertables in the jungle :-)
This is my home here in Gabon, Yenzi Camp nr. 38. Luckily it has airco!
This is the street where my house is in.
There are a lot of coconut trees here. I have one in the backyard!
This is a restaurant / bar in the village Plain 3.
Food is good, so I heard.. I've not been there.
These are houses in Plain III, a village near Shell.
This shows the poverty in this part of Gabon
And this is how the rich people live.. very close to the poor people.
This is me by the lakeside. There are many lakes here.
These trees look nice with the roots above the water
This is the 'parking' of the beach.
Me at the beach. The weather wasn't really nice, but it was hot enough !
Here you can see how close the forest is to the ocean.
There are a lot of these 'little' trees on the beach. Think they wash up on the beach. Don't have a clue where they come from...
OK, you have to look closely, but there are 2 monkeys in this tree. I saw more of them, jumping from one tree to the other. Nice little black-and-white monkeys!
Closer look at the monkey.
This is the clinic, the local hospital. People from the village come here as well.
This is the Club. Here we eat (outside in the afternoon, inside the building on the left in the evening)
This is Essingang Dieudonne. He is the Unix Adminstrator, and a good friend.
This is Dieudonne and me at the club.
There are nice colorful birds here.
This is the building of our departement.
Yeah.. life here is hard :)
This is the Christmas Fair in the Club
Having breakfast in the Club
Beware the elephants! You don't wanna hit one with the car.. they're very big :)
