Here's a picture of me with this really cool Kyocera cell phone / Palm Pilot that my wife bought for me. Pretty cool, huh? Technology is a great thing, ain't it?!?!
I'm a weather forecaster for the U.S. Air Force, and this is me in my uniform using one of our finely tuned meteorological instruments
I've got a second job as a cashier at the exchange here on base where I'm stationed (Uncle Sam just doesn't seem to pay enough!). For those of you who might not know, almost every U.S. military installation in the world has an exchange, which is just another term for a department store. In this picture I'm wearing my red AAFES (Army Air Force Exchange Service) vest. Pretty keen looking, huh?
My name is Steve, and my wife Donna and I have five wonderful kids. We're living at a base near San Antonio, Texas, and I've been in the Air Force for about 17 years now (has it really been that long?!?!?). My hobbies are art work and writing, both of which I do mostly on a computer nowadays. When I eventually get out of the military, I'm planning on getting some kind of a job as a computer graphic illustrator. Why don't I want to continue doing something in the weather career field? Well, I just don't have the interest for it that I once did. Don't get me wrong, I still like forecasting the weather, but I want a job that will both challenge me, and hold my interest in a firm grasp, and forecasting just doesn't quite have that combination that I need.
