LONELY SEASONS

I found a shy beauty with

evasive eyes and quiet ways under my heart's Christmas tree.

I untied her bow and she stayed with me.

After years of wreaths hung

and caroles sung, our promises remain.

Gone for now are the lonely seasons.

We hold hands while

giving gifts as snow falls.

Recalling countless joys,

we anticipate tinsel and lights we will place together.
