My first thought, when it came to Election 2004, was to campaign for "(Almost) Anybody But Bush", but then reality reared its ugly political head and I realised the "anybody" had to be someone with an actual chance at winning.
I'm no fan of the Democrats, my friends - truth be told, most of the time I'm much closer to a Republican point of view.
But over the last 4 years I've watched this Administration chip away at our personal freedoms through the imposition of President Bush's religious beliefs. I've been horrified at many of the steps this country has taken in the name of Patriotism and Homeland Security. I've seen families separated by a call to war - a war I'm not entirely certain we should be fighting.
I believe John Kerry and John Edwards should have the opportunity to show us what they can do for our great country. That's why I'm supporting the Kerry/Edwards ticket this November - and why I urge you to do the same.
We can't afford to slip back to the Dark Ages of backstreet abortions and government-mandated morality. We can't afford to allow our highest courts to be packed with judges serving life terms who will re-criminalize a woman's right to control what happens to her own body.
We can't afford another 4 years of "Dubbya."
